I don't know what it means to "pry enclosure from top left corner to loosen guide pin for removal." I'm about to just rip the fookin' thing off.

Sounds like you're on step 1- Remove the armrest. Get a large flathead screwdriver and pad the tip with a clean rag. Place it between the armrest and the padded door handle, push it down about 1/2" and gently pry to the rear. The armrest will pop back and lift off. Removing the armrest exposes the 3 screws that must be removed. Good luck.

I wouldn't even use a screw driver since it is very easy to leave a mark behind. What I do is grab the armrest with both hands and pull back as I push down. It helps to make grunting noises when doing this. Look inside the FSM to see how the arm rest tabs are positioned so that you have a good idea on how to take it off.

Thanks. I have done much in the way of pushing down and out, but so far, all I got was a small click. Yes, in my anger I forgot about the FSM... Ah, well, tomorrow morning my door panel will come off then! Again, thank you.

I actually like to use a putty knife to get it out.

I also like to take a screw driver around the perimeter and gently pry up to "unstick" it from the door panel. The leater on the arm rest and the vinyl on the door panel like to stick together.

Ahh... after reading the instructions in the link... I think that's what you're referring to! That "pry enclosure from door releasing guide pin into door" refers to a plastic pin or tab that extends out of the bose amp enclosure into the door. That step comes well after removing the door panel/cover.

I have never found that pin to be particulary tight. Just make sure you have the four screws out that attach the amp enclosure to the door - and then you can just pry it out... there's nothing magical about that pin or releasing it.

Good luck!

Hell, I must have an extremely stubborn arm rest then. It's clobberin' time!

Now that I get around to it...I cannot find it...

A while back I saw a walkthrough someone did to adapt the front door speaker enclosures to accomodate 6x9's. I have done searches but the terms I use give me nothing.
