Right now i have an 01 Lexus IS300 as my daily driver, and my 91 240sx as my almost track only car (see sig).

Anyways, its time i get rid of my lexus. I got it cuz i wanted to be driving something a young kid shouldn't be driving and i wanted to suprise people when they saw me drive it. Well now i dont care what people think, and to be honest, it was a mistake getting the Lexus. I can afford it and I do really like it, however, its not for me any more. Miles are getting high and I want something new. But what??

Then comes along this nissan versa commercial and i get interested. It seems like a cool car, it looks like fun and is more practical for me (maybe?).

A couple questions....I want a 6-speed, are they cheaper? What is the base model (auto or manuel)? How much do you pay for your versa? Include model as well please. How much for insurence?

Any help would be greatly apricaited. Thanx.

Hello and welcome. You will love the Verssa. In fact, the only thing I am a little disappointed in is the mileage. On mine, it really takes a lot of babying to get 30 mpg. But, it is a great car. To answer your questions, the 6 speed is standard. The CVT runs a little over $1000. To me, I have the CVT and love it. It turns around 2400 rpm at 70 mph compared to 3000 rpm for the 6 speed at 70 mph. It seems like most folks with the best mileage have the 6 speed though which is opposite what the window sticker said!! Supposedly, the CVT is 2 mpg better on the highway rating. I have the SL model with the Convenience pkg., floor mats, mud guards and CVT in the Fresh Powder color and beige interior. The price with tax, tags, license, etc. was $17200. I don't know what the insurance will be yet, I haven't gotten the bill. Good luck with your purchase.

I've got a Blue Onyx SL with Convenience Package and 6-speed.$15,905 MSRP before tax & licensing. Over the first month of ownership, I spent $800 more on tint and XM satellite radio (integrated to the factory radio).

I consistently get 30 mpg, as long as I don't hammer on the gas. It is spacious, just got back from a road trip with 4 adults (none of us shorter than 5'9") and everyone was comfortable, plus we easily hauled the luggage for all 4 of us in the trunk with room to spare.

It's VERY easy to drive around town. and park.

Insurance, for me (28, married, 5 safe driving points) is about $90/mo. And I have really high insurance limits, too.

I got the 4 speed auto with power package, paid a hair over $15,400 for it. All in all, I'm not disappointed.

I paid invoice - with no haggling. Apparently you have to find the right dealer.

Do not pay more than the sticker price you get from Nissanusa.com. Any more & the dealer is raping you. This car is not worth more than sticker even though it is new.

I paid $13,205+tax ect... for mine. 6-speed S with Power Package & floor mat set.

I put an order in with a dealer for one which should arrive in 6-8 weeks.

Specs: -Versa S-Manual 6-Power Package-ABS-Carpeted Floor Mat Set-Aluminum Kick Plates

The purchase price is $14000. XterraVersa is correct; you shouldn't have to pay more than sticker price from the website. Some local dealers were marking the car up $2000. Contact dealership's Internet Sales Department for quotes, they'll give the best one they can from the start. Most will give you the price from Nissan’s website or even slightly less. You can take these to a local dealership and tell them to beat the quotes. Try and find the dealer selling the most Versa's. They are making money from volume being sold and are more inclined to give you a pretty good price. It worked for me and I got the car for $3000 less than Dealer Sticker, free mats and kick plates(when they are release in Jan 07).

Versa SL - Black - charcoal interior with window TINT, Splash Guards, Floor mats, Convenience package, CVT for $16,000 (USD)

Also bought the 5 yr/100K warranty for $850. The company default price for the warranty is $892. You can buy the warranty with a different dealer. That works out cheaper. My dealer was charging me $1300 and was presenting it as a catch!
