my 91 240sx auto has a rough idle. i pulled the plug wire of off #4 to see if it would bog down even more. nothing happend! i'm running on 3 cylinders!cylinder #4 is getting spark. i switched wires and spark plugs and got the plug wire to arce about half an inch. I think it might be the injector not giving it any gas, but i don't know how to get it out or even how to check it. can any one tell me how to take out an injector? cuz pulling didn't work. could it be the wire going to the injector? how would you check the wire?got any ideas? could it be a stuck value?the ECU doesn't have any error codes.it has a rebuilt motor with 5k on it (at least thats what the guy i bought it from said)

listen for the solenoid click in the #4 injector. Have you pulled the #4 plug yet?

For me when I put my new KA in, it was only running on 3 cylinders. It was getting spark but no gas, I hadn't pushed the injector in all the way. But I think your problem is a little bit more serious then mine was, but try playing with the injector.

it don't miss some times. it never even ignites.no smoke that i can see.

i can smell gas. i think its because of the o2 from #4 hiting the o2 senser. that would make it think it needs more gas... right?and my fuel mileage right b4 this happends was about 23mpg.

wigle test didn't work.

themadscientist, yeah i put the plug from #3 in #4 to make sure. #4 pug wire is getting spark.

when injectors go bad do they stop letting gas through? or do they let to much gas through?

does anyone know were i can buy a mulit checker? the apex web site didn't have any on it i could find, but i didn't look to hard.how much $$$ are they?

That would be SO funny if you were racing a civic on 3 cyclinders, and teh fourth one started working, and you start pulling like crazy. The dude in the civic is like "he must have a turbo, it just kicked in!"

Haha

Nick.
