Hello to everyone, and let me thank you for this invaluable resource.

I have a '95 Q with around 130k. Recently (the past two weeks) I noticed a slight whine, and yesterday I smelled something like burnt clutch. I don't drive it much, so I didn't attend to the whine sooner.

There is no slipping, hestiation, or clunkiness in the transmission. Everything is smooth and solid.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Take it to your local expert for a complete once over, just as you do or should do every 90 days.

No maintenance history?

How can we guess with that paltry description?

When did you last replace you accessory drive belts and pulleys?

Pull transmission dipstick.... how is fluid level, color, smell, taste? What is your ATF replacement interval, since brand new?

Burnt clutch could be a brake hangin' up

Could also be an idler pulley seizing and causing the belt to slip... so many possibilities.

Check your idler pulleys.

Thanks everyone. I took it in yesterday; I should know by Tuesday.
