Hello All,Today I dropped off my 04' M for rattle attenuation. It breaks my heart I had to drive 140 miles round trip to find a dealer that would do it without charging me. It seems according to my dealer here (Coast Infiniti), rattles are only covered during the first 12/12 of the warranty. Everywhere else, it seems they will do it under warranty. Not only that, the advisor I spoke to here informed me I had "too much time on my hands" explaining why the rattles where driving me nuts. In fact, I drove with her she heard it and then informed me it could open pandora's box so to speak. I think now comes the time to write a letter to the General Manager. Furthermore, I was charged $100.00 for adjusting the window last time I was there. It seems I did not hit the dealer lottery. Oh well. The car I got today was an 07' G35. I must say the interior is waaaaay better. In fact, the interior of the old G was the biggest reason I did not buy one when I bought my M. While the car is quick, I honestly greatly prefer my car better. I know a new G will handle better, might be quicker too. Does not matter I just think the 03-03 M had a fit and finish in another league. The seats are greatly improved in the new G as well. I still like mine better. To be honest, I was expecting to be blown away by the new G. It is a heck of a car. I was afraid I would want one. I know subjective opinions are just that. But stlll, I am relieved.CheersMark

I too am driving an 07 G while they fix the gas gauge problem on my 03 M. I find the 07 G to be kinda like driving a tin can. Not a solid ride like the M. The only thing I don't miss about my M is the squeeky drivers seat. Anyone had that? If so what do you do to fix it?

E,I have heard other people talk about the squeaking driver's seat on this forum. I would recommend using the search function because I remember coming across a number of inquiries.Cheers,Mark

I recently had an '06 G35X for a loaner while my '04 M's exhaust manifold was being replaced.. I enjoyed driving it for the week or so I had it, but it was kind of buzzy. The best comment came from my wife just after we picked up the loaner- "wow, you really know when you're going 80 in *this* car.."

btw, glad to hear others have the squeaky seat, my wife thinks it's from me plopping my butt into it too hard..

It is likely the seat frame, I think. At Audi the seats would squeek and feel loose a lot of the times and the fix was to replace the frame.

I called them. Did not seem to help too much though. I suppose because adjustments are not covered after the first 12/12.. I know I must sound like a pain in the (whichever expletive). That being said, I am 31 and have ,probably stupidly, always used the dealer with nothing approaching this. I have never felt compelled to rant on a post or call a manufacturer until this deal. if you mentioned the problem within the 12/12 and it was never fixed properly, you may have some recourse, but only with the edealer it was originally addressed at...

While my local dealer would not do it, the dealer I drove to is doing it for free. In fact, the advisor was honestly suprised that the would not do it under warranty. Such is life.Thank You AllMark

I had the squeak. The dealer replaced the seat track under warranty. No squeak since (about 4k miles).

When I did have the squeak, it went away went i put the seat in a more upright position.
