I am scratching the Emanage, its for sale with the Eo1 if anyone is interested. I decided to get a JimWolf ECU. Doing some research, I know JimWolf's tunes are more conservative, which is fine. I read that the JimWolf computers have trouble with 50lb injectors which I thought about running, but figured I'd stick with my SR fuelrail and 370's because of that issue. I have an SAFC2 that I was going to sell, but will keep it and run off the JimWolf ECU just to fine tune the A/F's, etc. Um what else; I'm going to pick up a z32 MAF; the KA's dont like over 200hp do they? I want 240whp or so, so a Z MAF wont hurt regardless. How's this sound?

Get some 440cc injectors from deastchwerks.they;ll give you credit for your sr 370cc or you can sell them. For your ecu tune get enthalpy. 1 week turn around time.440cc will take you up to 300hp so you won't be stressing them liek to 370cc, and stock ka's can handle 300hp no problem. So you can get a z32mafs and run maybe 12psi and be around 275rwhp

Who told you Jim Wolf has trouble with 50 lb/hr fuel injectors? I've been running that for 2 years no problem...

In my experience, I say go with larger injectors/MAFS so you have room to turn up the boost, because invariably, you will want to do so.

I agree with everyone else about the injectors. I was going to run 370's at first too, but decided I wanted some "extra injector" in case I get power hungry.

I'm going to be running Deastchwerks 555cc injectors, Walbro pump, and ENthalpy ECU. SO even if something bad happens and I overboost or get a big boost spike, there will still be plenty of fuel to keep things from running lean and going boom. This is going to be on a Pulsar GTiR turbo, on which I'll be running anywhere from 7-15 psi.

Thats the thing, if I stick with the 370's I'll know my limitations. I want 10lbs max, 6 daily, which is why I wanted to stick with the 370's (in an SR rail with FPR). And, is the only reason Enthalpy is better is because of its turn-around time?

But what is this about getting like a credit or something for my 370's and getting the deatchwerks 440cc injectors? What kind of a credit are we talking here, I dont wanna spend alot of money if I dont have to.

If you are going to stick with the 370`s just use your SAFCII. You don`t need JWT ECU or Z32 for small injectors. That will put you above the 200 + rwhp and save you money.

No, Enthalpy is better because he makes more power and still has reliable tunes. If I were to go ECU reprogram, I'd go Enthalpy.

IIRC the dyno chart was 30whp difference.

Edit... Sorry it was more than 30whp and it was on an SR...

You could just install the SR 370's and the SAFC now and run 240whp now. Then, decide which tuning system you prefer (and which MAFS and injectors) later.

More power isn't necessarily a big issue, just as long as its a reliable/safe tune. Plus, later on if I change some setup I dont want to pay another $500 to get my ECU flashed again (enthalpy, right?). I dont know we'll see; and I think I've about decided to get some 440's, to be safe. Where is a good place to buy the deastchwerks injectors anyway, I want to know more about this getting credit for my 370's etc.

And yea I could throw it all on now, but I want to get it all at once, put it on at once, and never have a moment of run-time that I'm worried.

I think it's in the $120 area for a retune with Enthalpy. And according to everything I've read about people running them, they are really reliable tunes. Only problems people have, for the most part, is something else on the car is not working properly (IE: fuel pressure, boost leaks, spark blow out, etc.).

Glacier, thanks for the link to that dyno. You can see the Enthalpy stays right below 12:1 on boost, while the JWT drops below 11.5 at some points.

Ben, deatcshwerks will buy your 370's from you and let you pay the difference between that and the cost of the 480's.

I just e-mailed Enthalpy's assistant, Scott, a few weeks ago and if you need a retune because of changes to your setup, it's $125. And he just send you a new chip, so there is not really any downtime.

I've looked at both and Enthalpy is the better choice.

http://www.deatschwerks.com/

And here is the link for ENthalpy: http://rs-enthalpy.com/

I am glad I looked at that, because I just realized I am going to have to get a Z32 MAF (N62) if I want to run 550 injectors. I have an N60 Maxima Maf right now and it says he only tunes for 370's and 480's for that particular MAF.

SO I guess I will be running 480cc with the N60 MAF. Oh well, they're cheaper anyways!!

Not only that but JWT timing map is a lot more conservative compared to Enthalpy's map. That's why the lines jump up and down so much.

JWT isn't that bad of an option but Enthalpy ECU uses more efficient (yet reliable) maps. Enthalpy is the best option before going stand alone IMHO, especially if you don't plan on upgrading causing a need for a retune.

PS: I believe if the tune isn't quite right, you can send it back and get it fixed for free. You'll have to pay for a retune, though.

Call deastchwerks directly, they'll take care of you. They are awesome at what they do and great prices.

First of all, set your limits.Fomr me no more than 300, stock engine, stock MAF, reliableThen work your way back.In my case... 370cc JWT and SAFC makes it right. But been thinking about BikiRom for some time now.

But also as stated. Injectors and maf are good ot have because if you get a ecu tune then all you do is keep the psi down. If you happen to ge a boost spike then you got the extra fuel dumping unlike the 370cc whihc would go lean very quick and blow your motor. you can make 555 spray same fuel as 370 but not vice versa....(For you smart a55es that say turn up your fuel pressure be quiet, because you are stressing the injector)

Exactly the point I was trying to get across. I should have plenty of fuel with 550 injectors to handle any boost spike my little GTiR turbo can throw out. I'll probably run no more than 7-10 psi daily, but the comfort of knowing that I am good to go if I should hit 15 psi, (whether accidentally or intentionally), is worth the little bit of extra $$ for the larger injectors.

I see it as an extra measure of safety.

Agreed.

Talking to Scott at Enthalpy has helped me some. He recommended the 550's from deastchwerks because of tuning issues, so he thinks my setup is great w/ the Z32 MAF, safc2, his ECU, big injectors, etc. I like the added safety; i wont be using them to their potential, but if something out of my control happens then i'm taken care of.

Yeah that sounds good. I think some boost controllers/gauges have warnings when you overboost. That might not be such a bad idea. Then fix the problem from there.
