I was away on vacation last week so my 04 Coupe wasn't running all week. When I got home I let it warm up for a while then took if for a spin, no problems. Then on Monday the tire pressure light went on and the car was beeping just like if you were to leave the headlights on when the car is off. Then something didn't sound right in the engine.

Today I started it up and it sounded like something was flapping in the engine. like a belt was split or something. The belts looked fine to me. Then I looked at the battery and there is purple goo on the terminals. I'm guessing that's battery acid. The battery is new about a month or two, it's a die hard yellow top.

I'm guessing it's causing a problem with the engine because of a lack of electricity flow??? Anyone have any ideas or come across this problem? What would be causing this acid build up?

Sounds like got yourself a monster hiding under your hood.

I'm not up to speed like I should be on batteries, but someone else will answer this for you soon.

1st problem, tire pressure. Make sure you have your tires inflated to the OEM specs.

2nd problem, battery. Sounds like you got a defective one...take it back!

3rd problem, flapping sound. If it goes away when your stopped, you may have some plastic or other debris stuck in your undercarriage.

Just got the car back from the dealer and everything turned out fine. They did a full inspection and didn't find anything wrong with the car. I guess it was because I didn't start the car for a week and it's been cold around here.

The purple goo that was on the battery terminals was an anti corrosive the dealer tech's apply.

so all is good.

Laugh My Freaking A$$ off , isn't amazing how the G-35 can suddenly give its owners high blood pressure? I have learnt to ignore all manner of sounds and noises made by the G-35 coupe. If you focus on them, you will never sleep well. If that sound does not consistently translate into abnormal steering issues, or abnormal pedal feel, or abnormal shifts, then i wouldn't worry about the G.

haha

ya, you just got to drive the car around for a little. I don't consider it a problem unless I can duplicate it. A once time occurance is just a nuisance to me, not a problem. They go away and never come back. Happens with anything...cars, computers, et.

Glad you don't have any problems though.
