No i think someones pulling your leg dude.. I mean honestly there are a lot of dumb crimes committed daily out there, but whos got the time or the will to run around with a.. ECU.. Zapper.... looking to mess with peoples cars?

Sure there are ways to fry an ECU in a quickness but you would have to have a high voltage, low amp surge run through the electrical system to accomplish that. No ones going to carry around something like that just to cause you(and others) grief.

Funny idea though, next time my car wont start im going to be calling the police telling them someone zapped my ECU.

at my ford dealership when ever we are working on any eletrical stuff we have to wear this anti static pen, because the static shock could fry ecu, fuse panels, etc,

Maybe in a perfect storm situation. Im not saying its a bad idea, just very unlikely that a static charge would do anything to the cars electrical system.

well lets say that i'm in the middle of a divorce . and if your lost you dont just go up in peoples drive ways standing and walking around peoples cars talking on the cell phone and you have gps and mapquest directions on your clip board. i saw him looking at the back of my car like he looking at my tag and talking to some one with directions . any way i just wanted to know if any one heard being able to disarm a car from just standing outside of it. i would like to find out how to check out the ecu to see if it is good. I have spark and i have fuel pressure at my fuel regulater please give further advise

Did you get the guys info? No one comes on my property and goes near my vehicles without looking down the bussiness end of my Browning High Power.

Anyway, you can run a diagnostic check on the ecu, there is a knob on the back that lets you do this. Just search for the steps on here.

Are the injectors firing? If they are then the ecu is working and you have another problem. In which case, you need to make a new thread with all your details.

ok i ran a compression test last night and UUUUUUUUUUUgggg if my copression gauge is right it's 120 on #1 the rest 0 0 0 so i guess it s blon head gasket or ring lands while i had the spark plugs out during the test i could smell fuel coming out of the spark plug holes so i assum the injectors are working. i did a search on it could not find detailed info for me. i'm use to carburators and am playing electronics 101 on this so im trying to learn . i didn't know any thing about turbo charging when i started this project and i put it all together my self and made it 2 years -12000 miles at 10 psi so any way i started a new threadfor injector and ecu testing . any help would be great. i loved it while it was running !!!! wooooo pssss wooooo psssss. thanks ka-t friends.

You should have the fuel injectors disconnected for the test. Fuel can not only change the compression as it is incompressible, but excess fuel may wash out some of the oil that would otherwise seal the rings to the piston walls. Which could explain the poor reading.

That wouldnt explain why hes got three dead cyls.

I would run your comp test again, i find it hard to believe that one day you just turn off your car after pulling it into your driveway, then the next day you have a blown HG. Somethings not adding up.

could it be anti freeze leaking into the cylinders ?

That still wouldnt explain your lack of compression across three cyls.

So your saying, you just drove into your driveway one night and the car was running fine. Then the next day your car wont start, you do a comp test and you have three dead cyls? If thats the case it really makes no sense at all, you should check your results with another comp tester.

did compression test with brand new tester 1-210 2-135 3-195 4-200 this was a wet test from putting oil in from using the old tester. but even with on cylider bad or weak wouldnt it at act like it is trying to start???? and the anti freeze part i was talking about it leaking into the cylinders and affecting the compression test. this compression test was done on a cold motor since i cant get it to fire up !!!!!!!!

Your car needs fuel and spark to start. Have you done any basic tests on your car?
