Anyone else have similar experience with the following?

While driving getting into first is no problem, it drives fine in first and feels perfect. However, downshifting from 2nd-1st, is nearly impossible unless i come to a complete/near complete stop. Is this some sort of 'safety' thing or is something wrong with my trans? I can pusht he clutch all the way to the floor, get to neutral but it wont go up into first.....

any help?

Apparently you never drove your car with the KA in it?

Pretty much wont let you into first unless your well under 10mph rollling or just about stopped. Its designed that way, same as the KA transmission.

if you rev match it will go in at any speed, well any speed 1st is capable of. I always do it in traffic situations when your blood boils and you need to bone out.

It's never recommended to downshift into 1st unless you're stopped. If you need to, you should double clutch (rev match with clutch out) so you don't wear on the synchros.

Heel toe the sucker!!!!!! But yeh everone's own is like that and if it really bothers you so much and you dont wanna heel toe it or rev match it then grow some muscles and force that sucker in... Brute strength is a precision tool used to solve most problems in life.

well for this reason some nicer (read: more expensive) sports cars are made with dual or triple cone synchronizers on lower gears to alleviate problems like this. check out the '04+ S2000 gearbox. mmmmm, triple-cone carbon-coated synchronizer on first gear.
