as some of you know i been having problems and some of you have told me to clean out my idle air control valve well i have done that and still no good. now today the car wouldn't even try to start at all the next day after i cleaned it.. the night i cleaned the iacv and put it back in and started car it idle went up to 2,500rpm and really fast dropped and stalled and it just kept doing that and doing that and i even re-adjusted the idle screw both ways in and out and no luck.

and plus as some of you know i been asking about the air intake temp sensor becasue i don't have one and i wont be getting the order in til tomorrow.

I did have my car running last week and it was running fine without the air intake temp sensor... but still now do you think since i ran the car without the air temp sensor I was told by a mechnic that i may of been running lean and not knowing it due to that sesnor and i probably fired my O2 sensor out and my fuel pump now. Would he be right????

tomorrow when my air intake sensor comes in i'm gonna hook that up and just pray my car works.

any thoughts, help, idea's??? thanks

did u check trouble codes?

see http://www.240sx.org faqs for the procedure.

mebbe a bad mafs, but not sure till u see what the car's pc has seen...

hmm, did u disconnect tps plug to reset idle speed to ~750-800rpms?

i'm guessing that u have a CA-emissioned car, sine they have that additiona intake air temp sensor... my federal-emissioned car doesnt have this.

guy... did you even read the search topics? If it ran fine with the temp sensor out then that's not the problem. Have you even checked your computer for codes? No one is going to pay attention to you...first off , all your **** is jumbled together, we have already given you our thoughts and ideas... AND it doesn't seem like you have searched to find answers. CHECK CODES ... I just feel like calling you names.

correct i did run fine without the air intake temp sensor but what i'm hearing from mechniacs that running without it i may of fired my 02 sensor or my fuel pump due to running rich or lean, so i'm trying to find out if that would be true???

<shrugs> i know if u have a bad 02 sensor, you're car's pc woulda give u a code. & if its bad, car would just go into "open loop mode" but would be still running.

start w/ basics... check battery for proper V... mebbe it got drained from the multiple times u tried to start the car. also did u check all fuses?

vaccuum leaks?

when u turn key on, but not start the car, do u hear the fuel pump prime/pressurize the system? hear a short buzz noise in the trunk when u do it?

after u know that u r getting fuel, start checking for spark to rule that out...

how's nissan online mechanic helping u out on this? he's a vet tech, so he can suggest more things to go over

MAFS from autozone????Bet that cost you a good bit and you got ripped because autozone is welll...not top quality.Gone through 3 starters in 6months. not to mention 2yrs ago had a brand new bad alternator. and some other instances.
