Hey guys just wondering if any one has tried ITB on their M35,M35X yet and if any one would have any info on where to get a good kit and what will be necessary to do it I've never done ITB on any car but I've seen them done and thinking about trying it on my M35X

I don't have it in my M, but I've seen some of the G35 guys with them.

they are pricey...what else do you plan on adding to your car?? are you tuned??

OBX makes a good product.

Not sure what kits they ran, but check out OBX...

here's a video of a 350z with Independent Throttle Bodies....if you go this route, you'll need to modify your hood as well to get air into each port...

maybe talk to another member here on the NICO M's, "Fat3oy"...he does his own customizing and mods and he has the same car as you....he's supercharged!!

I didnt know what "ITB" meant as I have never heard of individual throttle bodies on a car before. I did a bit of googling on the matter and saw a couple people say that if individual throttle bodies are used then the car wont pass emissions. Is that true?

Cool idea. Are you planning on tracking your m35x only? I have never seen an ITB setup with intake filters and driving a daily driven car with ITB is cause for engine rebuilding. My tuner has a guy that regularly visits his shop and most recently had him develop the trumpets out of a new 3D printer. Really neat stuff. They're selling these trumpets now. Onpoint dyno. Maybe he could also give you advice on your questions. I know for a fact that your car would sound real mean but very noisy.

My first thought on if I were to do this (although I cant cause I need to pass CA smog) would be to use a setup similar to the Nissan GT-R intake manifold, but have 3 throttle bodies per side instead of 1 on each side. Like this:

It should be "easy enough" and be pretty reliable overall

I saw some variations of an ITB setup where each trumpet was enclosed within a box then each box leading to a filter but it's so much effort! I'm still not sure I would like to drive a luxury sedan setup like this. Z350/G35 coupe/Z37/G37 coupe if they're track only for sure.

OP if you're serious about ITB's by the time you're done you'll have more $$ in mods than the car is worth.

^ don't get it wrong, the M is a great car and being that you have the M35, you can still find a lot of parts to modify your car to add some fun to it... a lot of the M35 parts are interchangeable with the G35 (VQ35DE motor)...start checking out the classifieds section for G35's in this forum as well as countless others...I'd also check out 350Z forums as well.

From personal experience, I did a lot of research on the G35 because I was also thinking of getting one in addition to my M35, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of parts available. For our cars, the common add-ons would be Uprev tune, Ztube, K&N drop in filter, plenum spacer, modified lower plenum (Motordyne MREV2), HFC's, exhaust set ups, TransGo shift kit. All of which are inexpensive when getting the majority of them off of G35's classifieds :dblthumb:

Keep your car and enjoy it...do some mods and call it a day....I've got some mods and my car has approx 136K miles on it and it is still enjoyable....

...If you're going to go 'extreme' by going Force Induction, ITB, etc...then consider beefing up the engine....
