Its true. Today when I brought my car in to check on a possibly blown speaker and I thought the car was pulling to the left. I get a call a few hours later and the dealer tells me the following; The speaker is not blown I just need a new head unit, which is covered by the factory warranty good!! Then he proceeds to tell me I need four new tires at 500 a piece. Also I would be needing a (Bremo) brake job pretty soon. To top it off he tells me I need to replace a few belts at 160 a piece, I can't remember them all because I was too busy lifting my jaw up off the floor. The final tally of all the damage was roughly $5300. I am telling you right now I am still in school working part time, I really don't think I can afford that at this time. Yes I know I purchased a luxury car and things are expensive, but I did not think I would be needing to fork over this much money this soon in the ownership of the car (purchased used in September with 28,000 mi). Here at school I have developed a pretty good relationship with a local mechanic and I called him today and asked if he could give me a rough estimate but he said it would be better if he could see the car on a lift. I think he could do a great job with my brakes and the belts that I need. Also a girl I work with at the bank has a father that works at a dealership and she thinks she can get me a really good deal on tires at price which is nice. So have any of your guys had this experience? Has anyone been able to do the bremo work themselves? What type of knowledge is needed to beable to tackle a job like the bremos? Thanks guys and gals.
