Just as simple and way more comfortable: Springfield XD.

Maybe a little less simple and a whole different level of comfort: 1911, Browning High-Power. Heck, my FN FNP 40 isn't that much more complicated and is worlds more comfortable than the awkward Glock.

Once the XD came out, in my mind there became very few reasons to buy a Glock.

don't trade comfort in a hand gun for anything except reliability if it's a defense pistol.

if it's not comfortable, you're just not gonna shoot it as well.

I <3 my XD though...great pistols.

oh, got a new one toy today....

half the price of the Kahr, more than twice the size.

Hey cool!! That looks like the Super Blackhawk that was stuck in Jesda's pants.

I have a total of 3 of them (supers). No wait, one of them is a Vaquero but still built on the Super Blackhawk frame (all 44 of course).

rofl...what?

I'll stuff it in the front of my pants and use it for a splint the next time I break my d!ck.

hurry up and buy something already!

go single stack though, it's more comfy to carry.

if you want a double stack, I'd opt for the XD SC. they're quite nice once you pop in the fullsize mag with the grip extension.

Went and fondled the PT 111 Mil Pro today, along with the KT PF-9 and the Ruger LCP. Wanting a gun for the same purpose as you, and I think I'm between the PF-9 & LCP.

9mm = more power.380 = A gun I will never leave the house without

May buy both. One for the truck, one for my pocket. What do you think about the PF-9 Charleo? Felt and looked cheap to me, but for the price if it goes bang I won't complain.

I got a new subcompact a few weeks ago.

If you are curious, its a Smith and Wesson 460 XVR with the full length barrel.

Look it up.

Anyone tried the new .380ACP ultra compacts, like the Ruger LCP or the Magnum Research Micro Desert Eagle? I just went with my buddy to buy one. He ended up with the Desert Eagle because the LCP was having some trouble jamming or something. The LCP also does not have a fixed barrel like the Micro.

taurus has a new pocket .380 due out soon soon too.

Kahr recently released the PM380 also

it's north of 500 though.

a pocket pistol all of you should take a serious look at is the NAA Guardian.

it's a licensed copy of the Seacamp pistol.

they make a slightly larger frame version in .380 and .32NAA as well as a smaller in .32ACP and .25 auto

Nahh, I'm not that dumb when it comes to revolvers.

If I remember correctly, that guy is the moderator of the Mazda forums and he got flamed BIG time on various forums for this stupidity.

I took it to the range this weekend and shot some starting loads though it. I was pushing 250 grain hollowpoints at about 1600 feet per second. Rather light for that gun.

I have seen some loads that push a 260 grain bullet over 2000 feet per second. Try that with a 308. LOL

got any solid cast 400gr?

let's get one going about 2000 so I can hunt buses.

another pocket pistol out is the little Sig...I can't remember the model, but it's essentially a Colt Pony that looks SIGged up

ok, it was the previously mentioned 238

I like the ugly little guy. Especially when it's two tone

The Micro Eagle has been getting really good reviews though.

That sig is pretty slick. I'm a fan, but none of those ultra-compacts fit my hand well. I would have to be shooting Lupin III style, pinky out!

Notice though that the Micro Eagle has NO safety. Kind of concerned me. Its a double-action that has some sort of limp-wrist detection thing where it won't cycle the round if your wrist isn't straight. Or something. The trigger pull is about a mile and a half long though.

LOL. Dunno if that is possible without blowing up the gun but there is some max load data that has 395 grain gas checked bullets being pushed at almost 1800 feet per second.

Would that be good enough to catch some wild buses?

Why not a .357 Mag with a 2" snub nose?

I traded a PF-9 for my PT111...

My concise review: If you're looking for an inexpensive concealed carry pistol, the PT111 is a GREAT choice.

Pros:Good (no, great) triggerWell made12 rounds of 9mmFits well in my handThe lock is noticeably better than S&W's "Hilary Hole."It's eaten all the ammo I've thrown at it. If you're stupid and like 137gr 9mms, it'll even handle those.

Cons:Thicker than the PF-9.Annoying to field strip.Mine doesn't have a rail. I kind of want a laser now.

That said, I'll be picking up an LCP shortly so I can carry EVERYWHERE. The PT111 can go 80% of the places I go wearing what I wear. Sometimes, though...

If budget is really important to you, the PF-9 can probably go more places than the PT111, it's thinner. The PF-9 is noticeably cheaper, and from what I'm seeing, prices on PT111s are rising to the point where you could get a P3AT and a PF-9 for just a little more.

But I like my weapons to look good while doing their job, and am willing to pay a bit more for that.

Thanks for the review. I fondled a PT111 the other day and felt it was a bit too thick for my liking.

I have been looking and waiting on the Taurus PT709, but I can't find out ANYTHING on availability/release date. It's basically a nice version of the PF-9, but there are 2 versions floating around the net and I like the first design best.

Taurus is also making a .380 to steal some of KT/Rugers thunder, called the TCP (original huh?)

SIG has also basically reincarnated the Colt Mustang with ugly grips (SIG P238). I really like the EMP styling, and think it would look sweet with some rosewood grips.

I will probably buy the LCP soon, but will be waiting to check out these others as well.

I love that the booming market seems to be getting some big players to cater to consumers wants. I hate the availability and prices of guns/ammo.

Yep, i prefer a 4" barrel, but you cant deny the power a .357 in a semi carryable form factor

one of my favorite pistols is a little 2" Ruger SP-101

it's very controllable with 158's for me.

it's also a heavy little sucker...but a great pistol for the money, lot's better if you get the trigger slicked up.

I wish I could find some 124gr Hydrashock 9mm for a decent price now.

ah well, this sucks, I gotta wait a few more weeks before I try shooting...don't sprain the thumb on your dominate hand kids...it ruins all kinds of fun stuff.

Nah, pull out the rifles then.

Use you other hand to pull the butt into your shoulder. All you need is the trigger finger then

You also can't deny the recoil of such a pistol making follow-up shots, and target re-acquisition (especially at night) difficult.

of the 357's I've shot, a follow up wasn't any slower than most 1911's

that muzzle blast however....

Yup. Costs me about 7 cents a round to load up.

I have about 250 rounds of factory ammo and about 500 pieces of brass/primers/bullets in my reloading reserve.

So all set on 380.
