Now thats what I'm talking about!!

I have a couple thousand of 7.62x25. One of these days, I want to get a PPSH or whatever the semi-auto 7.62x25 sub gun is called.

The real PPSH is fully auto only. Those things are mean. There is a company that was making semi auto ones though.

Ok, finally shot the little Magnum Research Micro 'Eagle.

It is like having a cassette tape explode in your hands.

That is all.

I like how much 5.7 you can cram into that pistol.

Say what you want about it, but the FiveseveN can hold what, 20 rounds?

f*** yea!

Yeah, on the other side most full frame 9mm can hold 17+1.

The 5.7 has greater penetration, but IIRC the 9mm will deliver its payload in a much shorter distance. Meaning more efficient use of the energy

I agree.

If you can't get it done with that you're effed

What are your thoughts on the 45 vs 40 sw?

Maybe I haven't seen any hot loads of 45, but from what I've seen the 40sw is capable of more ft/lb then the 45acp.

Is that correct or am I missing something?

eh....45 is much easier to control than a really hot .40 load.

it's been getting the job done for 100 years so I'm fine with it.

you can get smaller guns in .40 however.

between the 3 big defense caliber, I'd base it on shooter's preference.

I'm fine with about 6 different calibers for that purpose.

True. I was just deciding my next caliber.

I'm thinking another handgun. I'm set on hunting rifles, for now.

I was thinking a 45acp, 44mag, 41mag, or 10mm.

I am building up my reloading bench so cost per round isn't an issue.

out of any of those...I'd say .41 Magnum...BUT you'll drop a lot of cash for one.

10mm and .45 you can get a Witness Elite Match for under 5...I'm not sure how much additional slides and barrels are, but you can change out between 5 or 6 calibers on the single frame.

I'm looking at the Witness line online.

They are pretty nice.

It seems you can switch calibers with out too much difficulty.

They arn't too expensive either. ~$500

Hmm....

I stopped by the local gun shop yesterday.

Played with a Glock G20 and G20SF. The SF is much nicer then the traditional huge Glock grips. I like the quick field stripping of these guns. Slide the lever, remove the slide, proceed to clean... Tag $670 new

Then I played with a Dan Wesson 1911 10mm. Wow, that thing is so sexy. All stainless with wood grips. It just felt right. The guy there didn't really know much about 1911s, or I don't. He claimed they weren't much good if they got even a little bit of dirt in them. I thought this was odd as they were primary sidearms in both WWs. Tag, $1200 new.

Then on to the lowly corner. I spy an odd little unit. A completely stainless steel Smith & Wesson marked $349. "What is that?" I say. The clerk kind of down played it, it was a Police trade in from S&W directly. Everything that was worn was replaced or repaired. There was no warranty on it. What model is it? A S&W 4046. It felt so much nicer then the Blued S&Ws sitting next to it for $700. And, if you run out of ammo you can just club the person!

I was really tempted by that last one, but I came in here for a 10mm...

As we are looking at the 4046 we start talking about 357 magnums. The clerk says, hang on, we just got something special in on trade.

He pulls out a Stainless pistol with wood grips. I didn't catch it at first, but then I notice something odd. It says, "357 Magnum" on the side of it.... WTF!!!

This is what he was showing:. I Coonan 357 magnum auto loader! There wasn't a price tag on it as they had just gotten it in. I suspect they raped the seller and are going to rape the next buyer . I had never even heard of one of these before yesterday. It felt very nice. I good weight to it. The magazine is recessed. Overall a very sexy weapon in an awesome round. I have to wonder how this would hold up to full power rounds rather then the watered down crap normally sold?

So, now I have a lot of things to look forward to. First to come, a G20SF chambered in 10mm. Then the 40s&w barrel for it

it's an oddball gun.

I'm not sure how the reliability is on it...I think it's more or less a stretched 1911 design.

I'd rather have Smith and Wesson 686.

Do a quick google search on it.

Apparently it is built like a tank
