So I was tired of having the yellow fog lights, I prefer a whiter light.

I'm waiting on a pair of clear lenses 2.5" It's the closest thing I could find to the 2" lens that is in the Q. After I get them I think I'll switch the HID's back into the projectors.

Looks great!! how did you get the yellow ones out? ive had the foglights out before but they didnt want to come apart for me. Why are you putting a clear lense in its place?

I baked them in the oven at 350 for five or so minutes, pried them apart with two screw drivers. The reflective housing is held on by two screws that go all the way through to the back. Then the lens is held in by a round piece of metal that has two screws holding it in. just took those off and put humpty dumpty back together with some new silicone.

I'm going with clear because I'm not a fan of the yellow. I don't really think it makes a huge difference in the fog so I'm making them driving lights.

but my question is why are you putting a clear lense back in VS just leaving it how it is now ?

Oh I misunderstood. Well the projector doesn't quite work without the lens. Without the lens it throws the light everywhere except down. Right now I'm using them as daytime running lights and the KC's as driving lights. I tried adjusting the fogs via the little screw in the back, but it literally made no difference.

The only problem with the lenses I bought are they are 1/2 inch bigger then the ones I took out.

Cool!! I was gonna do this but never got around to it. I even had one clear lense (from a random junk headlight at dad's body shop from a BMW or Audi or something, i can't remember) and was waiting for a second but just never got to it. Nice job though!

So I put in the clear lenses today. They work beautifully! I thought I was going to have problems, but everything worked out.

Inside of the housing after removing the chrome insert and yellow lens.

Not the best picture, but you kind of get a feel for the size difference of the lenses. The originals drop right into the projector housing.

Over all it took about two hours to do. This is something I've wanted to do since I got the car so its nice to finally have done it. What do you guys think?

You know that yellow light is better for fog...less scattering of light due to wavelength.

By chance, wll you put some yellow bulbs in or are you staying with the HIDs on the fogs?

Thanks for the offer fueler, but no, once is enough for me.

I have heard this, but honestly I don't think having yellow in fog makes a huge difference. I would rather have the driving lights, I'll be using them more then fogs. I'm gonna put in the HID's sometime, too lazy right now.

Oh and also, the clarity of these lenses are amazing. The cutoff line looks sick! I'll take a pic as soon as it dries up out here.

Okay so here are the pics of the new lenses at night. I put the HID's back in the projectors. The cutoff is not as sharp as it was with the halogens, probably because it is an arc type bulb and not filament. Either way, I'm happy with the results.

Just fogs

Fogs and Headlights

Fogs, headlights, and KC daylighters

Honest opinions?

Awesome work, does anyone have any experience trying to change the colour of the fogs without removing the yellow film? What colours were used/created?

I was considering green or pink but I don't want to open the housing..
