It actually came with the Apexi MAF adapter, i have two other brackets that came with the suction kit that mount in a different spot, you would probably be good with one of them. It attaches to the power steering resevoir bolt, the single one. I may be able to get another one of the same brackets i have. If you need it bad let me know and i will check it out.

Updates maybe coming today

Next, i was trying to figure out what to do for my exhaust system stuff. Initially i had planned to buy a Tomei elbow and an HKS Downpipe. After figuring out the price of that i figured i would go with the PBM Max flex cobra which is the best design out there right now.

So here it was, took about 2-3 weeks for it to get to me but it was well worth the wait.

The first thing that happened to me when i starting taking parts off the engine was a bolt snapped inside the turbo housing while trying to remove the turbo elbow. This was one of the BIGGEST pains to get out ever, it was in really far which made it even more difficult. After about 3 days of trying to get it out, it finally came out, without any damage to the threads. After two days i thought i was going to have to drill it out and re-tap it a little bit larger. That did not happen which i was thankful for and decided to get all brand new studs and not use any bolts at all.

I gobbed them with anti-seize and they went in.

Next i was deciding on which catback to get, i was initially set on the megan 3" because i had a megan 2.5" and it was the best fitting thing in the world. Amazing ground clearance, you couldn't even see it if you looked at the frame rail from the side. I definitely did not want a catback with a full resonator because of the cars height.

Since the Megan 3" was the same as the Buddy Club Spec II that i was also looking at, i decided to go with the Buddy Club.

The PBM Cobra went on with a brand new outlet gasket as well as new locking nuts.

It fit very well and was pretty much parallel with the frame rail.

There was also plenty of steering rack clearance.

As well as Clearance next to the transmission.

I also bought a resonated test pipe to keep the noise down a little, First i bought the ISIS one because i thought it was resonated then it showed up in the mail and it was actually just hollow. So the Project Nissan one was ordered.

Next the catback went into place.

Pretty good fitment except for this slip fit design which i cannot stand. i may even sell this catback because of this design unless i get a V-band put in right there which may be a good idea. Anyways, i don't see how this could possibly seal.

This side is better, but i would want both sides to be like this.

Next up, i set the car on the ground. To my surprise i had way less ground clearance than i thought i would. (Keep in mind i'm not using the stock mount that goes from the transmission mount to the downpipe which is probably what is causing this droop.)

I didnt think it was too bad until i decided to measure it.

Since i have always been using a Peak Performance transmission mount, (which i love) I am going to have to do some research to find another mount that is just as good or better that has the studs for mounting the stock bracket up to it. I thought right off the bat, "I need to get a Nismo mount now" but the truth is, the nismo is way too soft for my taste. I did find another one made by a company called Avid but you have to drill out the holes in the cross member which i do not want to do unless i absolutely have to.

I was just about to order theirs when i did yet even more research and found one made by a company called Super Now. Which is the one i am going to go with. It is solid Aluminum so it is going to be a small upgrade from the Peak one which i am happy with, I would rather upgrade to something more aggressive then downgrade to something way softer.

Here is the mount which i just ordered

That way i will be able to utilize the stock bracket setup like this.

Pics borrowed from Positron.

Anyways i will hopefully be getting this sorted out soon, i am still waiting on arrival of a few other things as well as being extremely busy.

For now, Check out this Giraffe.

I love that PBM flex downpipe. I think the flex portion of it will really reduce the risk of aftermarket tubular exhaust manifolds cracking. That's definitely on my list of near future buys.

Yeah it definitely will, i love it its a great design, but you DEFINITELY need that transmission mount if you dont want it sagging like saggy boobies.

that downpipe is so sexy man, your updates make my day when your able to post them lol. Definately don't want the saggy boobyness down there, I don't know if the roads where you drive are s***ty, but I broke even my stock exhaust completely off from hard braking on s***ty roads, wasn't fun lol

Thanks, yeah i agree its a great pipe. I'm glad my updates are appreciated! There are soo many views but not that many replies in this thread lol.

The roads here arent too bad but i definitely need my exhaust system to be parallel with my frame rails or it will be scraping on everything. Which is why im getting that mount and bracket setup.

Good thing I still have my transmission mount and yes your build thread is one of the more entertaining one. I always pop in whenever I see an update on it.

Haha yeah, i just love my Peak Performance mount because its solid poly which is awesome. I did not want to downgrade to the Nismo because i really did not want to downgrade.

The Avid Racing mount is just ridiculous having to drill out the holes on the crossmember etc. even though im sure its good quality. However i was glad to find the Super Now mount, since it is an upgrade from what i have now and its extremely JDM which is always good plus it does not require any extra modifications.

BTW I am pretty sure i am going to be selling this Buddy Club Spec II if anyone wants it. I may post it in the classifieds if i have time.

Yeah I noticed that exact same thing. That's why I ordered the ones on eBay, because they come in packs of 2. And essentially are the EXACT same thing. I just bought the wrong diameter holes so I had to drill them out a little bit but no biggie.

Is this question for me? Lol If it is, no i did not replace it. This engine had 50,000k give or take 400 miles and was already running and in a friend of mines car, so i know it was in good shape. When the time comes i will be doing a Tomei HG.

FRSport actually carries them, they are rather expensive though at around $1.75 a piece typically. How many do you need? I have some extras here that dont have the flare on them. If these would work for you i can send them to you.

mainly just at the end of the thread when your done just for reference. i am definitely gonna do alot of the same things you are to my s14 sr and it would be good reference for people if they had the part numbers ie the fuel rail and all the parts needed to make the greddy manifold work. I can also just email you.

Side note: you are gonna love this engine. Spring has hit and i have been driving my car around everyday. I knew i would like this car but its even faster and more fun to drive than i thought.
