now is the atf in the cylinders recommended? im getting ready to swap motors and the one going in has been sitting for quite some time
FORGOT??? :frown:

Haha, i know it has been awhile since i have updated. I have been very busy with work lately.

Anyways, i would definitely recommend putting some ATF in the cylinders for any engine that has been sitting for awhile. This engine has been sitting for 3 years indoors though.

Are you putting an SR in? I guess any turbo motor i would recommend doing 55mL of ATF per cylinder so it actually reaches the piston rings, anyone who tells you not to put that much obviously does not know what a standard dished piston is.

How long has your motor been sitting?

Yes sir!!! :D I just picked up a rear bumper to complete the streamline kit as well! Those sideskirts are a pain to make fit properly. Any tricks on that?

Thank you! I am glad you think so! Your CA has always been one of my favorites. I recently helped with a CA swap and looked at your thread a ton to get the proper fitment on the PBM HMIC coldpipe in combination with the Samco upper radiator hose. I got a little nervous cutting up a brand new hose but it worked out great!!! :mike

More updates coming soon, i am trying to work with DIF to produce an SR20DET Oil Pan Gasket. If we get this going i will be buying my Tomei oil pan very soon!

Goodnight guys!

Can't believe its finally running man! I got mine running the other week also!, but doesn't look nearly as nice as that, kudos.

I see you got the informeter to work. I spoke with you last year about parts I needed to get it to work, I called up GReddy and they said the external sensor adaptor wouldn't work without OBDII, even with the OBD1 adaptor. As soon as I heard that, I solt all the informeter components and bough the new GReddy A/D Gauge.
Its nice to see you got it working!

I know man me neither! It has been a long process. Right now i am planning out the next phase which will be changing the exhaust side gaskets and possibly getting a brand new T25 if possible.(Keep in mind i'm not looking for a lot of power)

For the Greddy Informeter Touch if you talk to Greddy in the USA they are not able to obtain the proper NON OBD Sensor adapter needed to make this work with OBD1, however Greddy in Japan is able to. If needed i can help obtain everything you need to make this work.

Updates soon!

Ahhh I didn't know that so I went ahead and sold it. Went with the GReddy A/D gauge and am pleased with how it turned out.

I would like to know how I can get my hands on that bracket for the trottle cable:D.

No particular hurry. I managed to ghetto rig the KA bracket on it, but would like a much cleaner look. PM me with a price :)

To complete your engine bay I would want to see a correct positive crankcase ventilation setup like factory. That is, properly connect the T of the valvecover to the inlet of the turbocharger such that during boost you can get some cleaning action. Cleaner oil is better, amirite?

You sir are indeed correct however, the difference between the way the factory does it and the way i have done it here is simply a large 1000ml Greddy catch can in between the two :) I wanted to make sure to trap any oil that may make its way from the front of the valve cover 'T' to the intake system.

Here is from the inlet on the turbo.

On my KA24DE, i had just a breather on the valve cover (maybe this is what you were referring to? ) I liked how clean it looked, however it definitely was not the best setup for sucking out the crankcase gasses and i would notice the oil get slightly darker after a few decently hard runs.

Eventually i may go the direction of the S14.3 hybrid valve cover, but i am not 100% sure yet. We will be putting one of those on a build we are doing for a good friend of mine.

Something similar to this here

I should be back with some updates soon guys, I have been very busy with work lately.

Goodnight everyone

Okay, I see what you have. It is better than nothing, however, I want to point something out. The pressure drop created in the compressor inlet is what pulls the crankcase vapors out of the valvecover. As you move farther and farther away from that compressor inlet tube, the pressure drop is less and less. By the time you get to the catch can, you are barely pulling any vacuum at all, and once you finally pull a vacuum on the catch can (due to it's volume) there is nearly nothing left to actually present a pressure drop the actual crank case.

I am sure it works to some degree, but, In my Humble opinion, you should shorten the lines as much as possible, and reduce the volume of your catch can. Get an exhaust scavenging setup if you can, directly on the downpipe, an S14/S13 hybrid cover would be perfect for that, Ive seen one before. Right off the cover and into the exhaust. Maximum scavenging and nothing gets sucked into the compressor.

I agree. I still may be doing the S14.3 valve cover at some point in the future though.

Looks like i should update this thread soon!
