Hello I need some help. I rebuilt my 03' fx45 engine. Now I'm trying to get it back together with the trans. When I bolt it up it leaves a small gap roughly 1/8". Am I missing something on the torque converter install? I can't get my fingers behind it and I hear it click into the trans pump. When I tightened the bolts I can't turn the crank. I need some help!

Welcome to NICO!
That sound scary, but maybe that is the design? Do you recall what they looked like when mated when you pulled them out of the car?

Take a peek at the FSM, too.
Here at NICO, we have Factory Service Manuals available free to members. Take a peek at the link in my signature and find the FSM for your car and you'll have all the info you'll ever need to make the repair and try to diagnose it for yourself while help is on the way.

Something's binding... I'll look at the FSM as well and see, but it sounds like there's an issue with the TC not engaging fully.

Dumb question, but is there a shield between the (like on an older engine)?

That was my first thought actually. I checked the the FSM and didn't see spacer and one isn't mentioned. If you haven't looked the install is here on pg 271. There are 3 CAUTION notes you should check as well as a torque sequence.

Hope that helps.

Have you fully bolted the torque converter to the flywheel too? If its still loose, you could have an issue.
