Exactly. Eibach, Tanabe, Tein, H&R, and B&G all go through rigorous design and testing. When they build a spring, they use a very specific material composition, manufactured in a very specific way, treated and painted in a very specific way, and post-processed in a very specific way.
A counterfeit manufacturer of a spring is likely just to take a steel bar and heat it to wrap it into the shape of a spring, then let it cool, paint it, and ship it. It's going to LOOK like a spring... it MAY have some spring-like characteristics, but it is NOT going to perform in any way, shape, or form like the part it is intended to be a copy of. Heck, a counterfeit spring may not even perform as well as your STOCK spring!
The point is that a genuine part is engineered, designed, and manufactured a specific way, to perform as it was intended and tested.
A knockoff part is slapped together out of materials designed to look like the real thing, but with no design or testing, or regard to actual result.
