Helo, I have an s14 sr20det in a 1995 s14. I recently blew my upgraded turbo (hks gt2530) and replaced it with the stock t28. Well when i drive it now it will only go to 4psi and sputter really bad around 4500 rpms all the way to redline. I have the power fc and nismo 555cc injectors tuned at 16 or 17 psi. Would the smaller turbo be causing this being that it does not push as much air, or do I have to get a retune every time i change a turbo??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks-Jon

I would think it'd be a boost leak, but could need a retune.

That's what I assumed, but I checked and found no leak.

You are probably getting way too much fuel for the stock turbo.....

Ok well I figured that the ecu was giving the motor too much fuel, But I had an idea to take the wastegate actuator off of the wastegate on the turbo and it runs perfectly all the way to redline. It still makes about 3 psi with the wastegate off.Why would it sputter with the wastegate attached???

Wait you pulled the wastegate vac line off? Or you disconnected the wastegate arm? Either way doing both of those things could cause serious damage to the motor/turbo. Wastegate vac line off, you're going to max out the wastegates capable psi. Wastegate arm disconnected you're going to over spool the turbo and cause some serious havoc to your motor...
