i put a 302 into my 240sx but..... need help with some thing...

well... now... i have some thing that i havent repair yet, but.. ...

the engine is carb 5.0 l ford...transmission AT c4 ( overdrive )

i think i only get a top speed of 140kmph ... i dont have guages... only temp and tacho.. but.... can i do more top speed changing the diferential? if i can do that, what type of diferential is recomended? maybe one of a 300zx turbo? well.. thanks for help =)

a 300zx turbo diff should change the gearing a little and give u a higher top speed

Sorry, obviously I didn't mean that. I meant 140kph=87mph.

Yeah, maik, a 300zx tt diff will definately lengthen all of your gear ratios. You can also run very large tires as well to help out.

Yes the TT Diff fits... Just longer gearing...

Are ther not any custom gearsets around. He could use a 3.42 or higher intead of a 4.08. Plenty of torque to cruise around, and one hell of a run on highway.

The Mustang aftermarket is effin enormous, and I imagine you're using a Mustang transmission, there have to be aftermarket final drive gears out there.

Yeah, he could probably find an aftermarket domestic diff and ring gear, make custom mounts, get a driveshaft and axles made, and whala.... but that would be pretty expensive. I would imagine that the easiest thing would be to use the tt diff, or have a custom ring gear machined for you. Someone should do the math on the tt diff, See what kind of a difference in gearing it would make for this guy. If it turns out to be not enough of an improvement, custom parts would be neccesary.

i dont think i need nos, because the top speed is so low and i dont need an blown engine =) i need more speed without going into red zone !!! but if you said that diff tt 300zx will fit ... i need to search for prices, but here in mexico, the prices are lowers cheapers ... and i some of you told some thing... big tires.... maybe it work to, but what kind of tires i can put?? im now 195/60/15 !!

with this 302 carb and that crapy transmission, i now beat stangs 4.6 and 5.0... stock stangs ... and my engine is stock 2!! maybe or truly all of you think that this is now good, but its a good inprovement for my car and it has cheap parts for repair... and other things ... now open diff sucks..
