I polishing a valve cover. need opinions!

Like I said, im working on polishing a spare s13 kade valve cover, and if it turns out right Ill sell it. Should I shave the letters?

Also, any tips on sanding and polishing around the letters if i choose to keep them?

Just use paint stripper. You can get it at at auto paint supply store or at lowes etc... And keep the letters.

there is a difference between polishing and removing paint.....

use rotary tools, small grinding wheels, like a dremel

^what he said. i polished my manifold with a dremel and a wire wheel. you can do a valve cover this way. id say leave the letters. id suggest clear coating it, however im not sure if it would hold up to the heat haven't had a problem with my mani though

the hardest thing other than the letters are little stress cracks or something in the casting. Im down to some heavy duty emory cloth getting these things out. I hope this comes out nice. Thanks for the input guys. I read an article on using a dremel and using self adhesive sand paper and making little cones to sand in tiny areas. going to give that a try.
