... otherwise it would be called IISMO...
I like INSMO for Infiniti, NISMO for Nissan.
All in all that listing was a bunch of BS (intentional or not), and a decal bombed M, which I don't judge either. It does look like a true sport model though, so it's got that going for it.
The good:
$3,400 is a very good price for the features the vehicle has. I couldn't see all the pictures clearly, but still looks good from here. Even if you don't repair it, you could eventually make back your money parting it out.
The neutral:
It seems like a majority of the people who get these cars as projects end up sitting on them for such a long time with no movement. Most are shocked by the cost of an engine, even before factoring in labor to R&R. This might not apply to you.
The bad:
Unfortunately at this point in time, there are no known substitutes for an M56 engine. A 5.6 sedan will only take an engine from a 5.6 sedan, so the donor will have to be another M56 or a v8 Q70. From experience, I would not try to reuse any major oil-lubricated parts from an engine with engine knock - usually the entire system needs work.
FYI, the titan/armada/qx80 heads are set up vastly different than the M56. I highly suspect that the blocks offer better interchangeability, but I cannot say for certain
Something hopeful:
Well, at least the engine still runs. It might be hard to tell if the car is running at full power, but at least you have time. You could immediately stop driving it and take the engine to a machine shop/engine builder to assess the damage and see if they can salvage it.
A locked engine is more involved and expensive to revive.
A car like this is quite a gamble for a project. Y51 + V8 + sport model!
It could bring you immense pleasure when you get it on the road, or it will have you eating a bowl of ramen noodles mixed with snot & tears.
I wish you luck, and will be checking in for support once in a while.
