Ok.. I think will get flamed for this big time.I brought a 240 because i liked cars and wanted to learn how to modifiy cars. I got my 240, got some basic stuff and an sr20..

than i wanted to drift.I drifted, and i got cited. many times..... and drift is not my thing. And i found auto-x.... i wanted to try but I can't afford. So i started to drive on moutain roads. It is the best freaking thing ever happened.. i mean drift gave me a good rush but.. omfg canyon driving is way off the chart. Its all fun until tonight.. i was up on a local moutain road again/wet/night/forgot my glasses... i almost died.

I dont think i can stop high perfromance driving(is probally not in a pro's eyes). But I can't find any track thats at an affordable price. NO empty parking lots to have in. Omg Im down to go to anywhere to drive fast safely. Does any of you have any suggestion of where, or where i shoudl look?

AutoX is too expensive???? Why do you think it is too expensive? Here in KC it is about 30.00 for entry fees. plus what ever food and water you bring. Just go out and run your car in what ever class you fall in, and don't worry about having your car prepped 100% the first couple years is mostly learning any ways. See if your local region has a street tire class. BUT PLEASE for the love of God, don't kill yourself or some one else on the public roads (it sounds like you have already learned this lesson).

Most regions even have loaner helmets.

It looks like you are near LA, they run autoX's damn near year round out there. http://www.solo2.com/And here is there forumhttp://forums.solo2.com/

I am sure you could find out there what / where the closest events are to you.

Good luck, and keep it smart on the streets.

yeah autox here is $35, you don't have to buy R compounds to have fun, just if you want to win

and a helmet isn't too pricy either, you can get a current open face helmet for under $100

wow. I feel even more stupid now. I do have a room temperature IQ lolz. Is there any other site for events like the one you linked? Typically how much time does one get to drive in an event like that? solo2 is kart racing right?

You can run Karts in SOLO2, but you can also run just about any car you want. Solo2 is the offical name for SCCA's autoX program.Usally you get 3 to 6 six runs, depending on the region at 30 to 70 seconds each, depending on the course / lot size. KC ussaly has 40 to 50 sec course (Well until we lost our lot), and you get 4 runs. Other regions / clubs do things diffrently.

scca.orgsccaforums.com

If you check the local forum I posted earlier, you can probably find out if there are any more local clubs. I know some times BMWCCA and Porsche Car Club of amarica among other car clubs run autox's as well.

NASA also has an autox program, but not as wide spread as SCCA does. And comletly diffrent rules set. Don't feel stupid, every one has to start some where.

Kids run FJB and FJA (Junior Karts), Did it mention something to the effect that you can't move / have any car running? That is probably what they where mentioning. There are VERY strick rules when junior Karts run.

Go, ask lots of questions, offer to help, get there EARLY, have fun.
