TUrned out quite well IMO.

I did two coats of gloss black, and then one light mist of metallic Red. I relly like how it turned out, especially for just using a rattlecan. Before:After:Installed:

To be turbo'd soon.

thats pretty cool lookin'! reminds me of this 3rd gen eclipse i saw on one of those rice shows. they had sprayed red metallic clear on his CF hood and it looked nice. gave it a slight redish shimmer.

Nice simple improvement. A few hours and a couple $$ worth of spray paint.

What is the best thing to use to cover up the lettering so they don't get painted. I heard vaseline, is there any other ways?

Paint the whole cover... and then sand down the top of the letters.... it comes out flawless!

I bought a matching color can of spray paint at Autozone. Matches pretty good. I took my valve cover to my friends house and used a fine wire wheel to get all the paint off the old valve cover. Bought a cheap can of primer spray paint i think it was 99 cents. Regular matching paint was about $4 for a small spray paint can. I had the high temp clear coat left over from another project at my house wich can be pick up for under $5. It may take sometime with the wire wheel and waiting for coats to dry. It can be done for under $10. Its probably a good time to change the valve cover gasket too while you have the valve cover off.

can you get that stuff in a can instead of a spray can, i have a spray gun that i think would work better...

you did get it all at autozone right, the primer, paint, and clear coat

oh, and did you just use the wire wheel to get the letters shiny or did you use a sander

You should do each one a different color...or is it a 4-banger?

Its a 4 banger.

I can spray the front half one color and the back half another color.

Yep, I haven't been on there in forever though....to much drama and BS. NICO is the place to be. I love the sparco's too, very nice, light and functional. I just put in a Sparco Color2 steering wheel yesterday to go with everything.

Nice to see you around.
