Today I helped my friend sand down some spots of rust on his truck, then fixed them with fiberglass. Then we painted the entire truck, and it turned out pretty good for our first paint job. We had a little bit of orange peel, but it wasn't bad at all. I was amazed he let me spray his truck considering I had never done it before. I want to practice a few more times, then I might try to respray my car because the people who did it, didn't do a very good job. I'm just excited about this and wanted to share my first painting experience. :ylsuper

So if orange peel is when the paint gets little dimples in it, what is it when the paint actually peels off (like my car:()

Glad you got your first experience...I need to make sure if I do mine myself my first experience comes out to be damn nice...

The only thing I've ever done is just watch my uncle paint a few cars that he's worked on, but never actually painted myself until today. When I get my winter rat, I'm going to repaint that thing for some more practice. Painting is a lot of fun and you get to see that all your time actually created something nice.

paint is pretty simple once u get the technique.. i worked at a paint and body shop for half a year.. orange peels suck.. just let it dry and wet sand it.. smooth it out and repaint it again.. i hope you did more then 2 coats? and dont forget to clear it.. the clear should smooth it out.. joe

we're going to paint a friend of mines s13 pretty soon, he rear ended a ford ranger, so he decided to get the s13 silvia conversion, and we need to paint it all to match. But we're unsure whehter or not to paint the carbon fiber hood.
