So, after just recently recovering from my slight mishap (busted control arm, bent wheels), I was thoroughly enjoying my car. On the way home, right as i was about to shift under moderate boost pressure, I heard a loud POP!, and my engine promptly died. It will start, but boost pressure is erratic and it bucks like your mom while under load. So I towed it home and now I need to figure out the problem. No visible vacuum leaks but then again I am semi-retarded. Any ideas? Please help me prevent suicide.

check the basics first. Pull the plugs and take a look, are they different from each other or damaged? give the turbo a spin with your fingers, rolls smoothly? Check the radiator for drops of oil and the dipstick for traces of water.

Good news, it was just the coupling from hotpipe to intercooler. Not visibly disconnected but a quick tug revealed it wasn't attached at all. So I put it back together and it runs fine. Idle is a little shaky, but I think it has some excess fuel in the cylinder from the short distance (about 1/16 of a mile) that i drove it last night.

haha I was going to say intercooler piping but then you got it fixed... Usually when you hear POP and car "bucks like your mom" then piping came loose or something.

Good chance that my plugs are fouled? Haven't had time to check yet

if you tried to run it with the intercooler piping off for a while, over-rich condition might have caused your plugs to foul... takes 5 mins to check.. Id check it.
