got back to the track tonight (only night off from work this week). got there early while there were few cars there. i got about 6 runs in a 30min period. i was having very bad wheel hop problems all the way down the track using my bfg 235/60/15 drag radials on maxima wheels. i was running 20psi with lean afr's with race gas estimating a decent 400rwhp/torque. seems like these tires jsut cant hold that much even at low pressures.

the last run a simple 12.7 had wheel hop right before the traps in 4th gear at 110mph (peak torque) so i went to put it into 5th to get rid of the wheel hop and there was no longer a 5th after that. my 5th is basically neutral now. other gears work fine.

so as a heads up the bfg 235/60/15 are good to about 350 maybe even 375ish rwhp. dont plan on using them in a 400hp car. these will probably be for sale soon

Any ideas yet on how much you would want for those tires.

HAHAHAH... too bad Anth.... my gears did the same to me after a few very hard pulls down the highway... I think me missing a few 5th gear shifts had something to do with that.

I'm guessing in the US it's wasy to find spare parts for a KA gearbox... if not try getting it from a hardbody. I broke the 5th gear bracket (dunno if that is the name) and I just had to do some minor changes at the machine shop to get a hardbody to work in mine.
