but I am looking at buying a Q45. I was just browsing craigslist, and I came across it. It is a 1995 Q45, black on black with 170 000 miles on it. Apparently it has no rust, and the current owner has had it for the last 5 years and has full service records for it. He is selling it for the mind boggling low price of $2500 CAD. I am going to go and look at it right now, because I am in the market for another car after my accident I will let you guys know how it goes.

You just missed a G50 Q45 in Hamilton that sold for $200 last week that had a new engine, new metal guides, knock sensors+harness, new fuel pump, alternator, etc...The car was accidented lightly in the front left corner but it would have been awesome for parts or even a fixer upper for those who are good at that kind of work. Take your time and try to buy the right one. Last thing you need is a tired Q.

Good luck with the hunt!

Yeah, it was sweet. I took it for a spin today. Gobs of power down low. Chassis was in perfect condition. Not a single bit of rust anywhere. It was rustproofed yearly. Engine does not make any weird noises and pulls strong. I didn't rev it higher than 5k because the owner was giving me looks. I may just have to buy it. The only thing wrong with it is it needs new rear tires, and there is a little ding on the rear bumper. No damage to the car, just the paint.

If he put that much work into it you probably wont be able to haggle him down. I don't know but personally an extra 500 or 1000 up front seems like its worth it rather then getting a Q thats been tortured for a few years and needs alot more $ to fix up. Shop around, the internet has a crapload of listings, take a couple days to see if you can get a better deal and if not - welcome to the Infinti side of NICO

I was about to, but those flaming devils kind of scare me a little. I don't know, I am not 100% sure if the car would suit me. My brother absolutely loves it though. He liked big sedans like that. He only has his learners permit, so he really wants me to buy it and save it for him. The next cheapest Q in my area was around 6000. I do not really want anything that I have to put alot of work into fixing at the moment. I had enough of that with my last 240. I don't know, I will look around more and see what is out there.

Well, if you don't want a nice long distance touring sedan, then no.

Try a Honda or a new car.

Oh, this car is in impeccable shape and would not need fixing. I said that in reference to the people posting links to more beat up cars. If anything I will buy another 240 I think. I have gotten very familiar with their inner workings. I will just spend a little more money and buy one that is in better condition. Maybe an imported one. One of the main things that is stopping me from getting the Q, is that I am stuck in bumper to bumper traffic alot, going to and from work. that sounds like it would be murderous on my wallet.

Yeah, that is it's other virtue!

But gas mileage plummets twoards zero at idle. Just like any other car.

Ok, well I have looked around and put it off long enough, but I am going to get the Q45. I am not enthused about the gas mileage, but you gotta pay to play. Gas is the cheapest it has been in a long while up here, so it could be worse. I am not going to be driving it alot when I am back at school anyways. It just kicks too much *** for me to pass over it at such a low price. And the more I read up on it, the more excited I get. Now if only I could get one of those darn Nico ecu's.

Must be some socialist government plot that forces the owner to mount the horns so far back!

Guess they never saw a live one.

I am going to get it tomorrow. I need to get my insurance set up, so I can at least get temporary plates. I guess I could just write down a fake policy number, but then if anything happens, I am screwed. I guess I could just stay away from high risk areas like Kennedy and Steeles

So I just picked the car up today, and I couldnt be happier. The thing definately does not feel like a 4000 pound car. That thing hauls when you step into it. The only problems with the car are the rearview mirror doesnt want to stay put, and the fuel pump is a bit loud, and there is a random ticking noise that sounds like lifters or something. Pictures will come tomorrow, once I have it all registered and all that jazz. Maybe I will get it detailed tomorrow or something. I am not patient enough to do such meticulous work myself!

I HAVE NOW JOINED THE DARKSIDE!!!!

Yeah, I picked up the fuel pump from him the other day. He had bought it, but then ended up getting a 2002 q45, so he didn't bother replacing the pump. It is brand new in box from infiniti of scottsdale. I am going to be replacing it this week. I was reading up on it on q45.org, but couldnt find alot of pictures for the writeup. Did those get lost over the years or something? I could take alot of pictures when I am doing mine if they aren't still around anymore.

BG44K won't do anything for the HLA, but a can of BG QuickClean immediately before (no more than 10 minutes) the next oil change will.

Sweet, I will give that a shot. I just changed the oil, so I will wait a little while before doing it again.
