Hey guys, project 240 is about to commence in my neck of the woods (and take 4+ years to finish lol)...... Anyway, I'm about to start stripping the paint to do all of the body work and repaint it. The car was originally midnight blue from the factory. I'm planning on repainting it for sure midnight blue again (not sure if I want to go more metallic or a little darker, but time / money will tell), but what I want your help with is in another area. I am thinking about doing a 2-tone paint job. Following the body lines and having the top "half" of the car to be one color and the bottom to be another. Now what I'm having some difficulty deciding is what color to put where... I was thinking about using the midnight blue as a primary color (b/c my interior is still blue) and the secondary color would be a nice silver... But the tough part is: blue top and silver bottom, or silver top and blue bottom............ (mind you that this is a hatchback aswell) Thanks for your input, and I'm going to try to get an example profile view of what I'm wanting to do (both options).. that might take me a day or so (working on it now though)....

I remember hearing once that on fastbacks in Japan, it was common for the roof to be painted black and the rest red/blue/whatever. So everything below the "waistline" of the car was, say in your case, midnight blue, but the top was black. Just something I heard once, I am not sure if it is true. I just think the idea sounded neat.

But in my opinion, I think you should paint the whole thing bright Barbie hot pink. Sorry, had to throw that in there for fun

I'm a fan of the two tone paint job, but with the split running from the front tip of the skirts to the base of the rear pillar.I'm a big fan of 350z orange and black.
