So, I bought my 1997 Q45 the other day. It had been air bagged and had a system before, so the trunk is not as it should be. I know there is stuff missing, but I don't know what that stuff is. Can anybody help me out by taking a picture of the trunk, with and without the bottom piece so I can see the spare tire layout and such? I would really appreciate any help I could get.

The spare tire is a space saver that fits in the well.

Maybe if you posted a picture of yours it would be easier for us to comment. Also the FSM and OM should clarify some things for you.

I'm assuming that OM means owners manual. It doesn't have one. I'm not sure what FSM means, but I'm sure once you tell me, I'll feel retarded. I have the space saver, and a plastic tray, but I have no jack, tools, or anything to hold the wheel in place, so I would like to see what that all looks like, thank you.

Thanx for those links, but I don't really see what I'm looking for. I found an owner's manual on eBay, so I should be getting that soon. Thanks for trying to answer my question by not answering my question.

You can contact a Q45 seller on ebay and ask for trunk photos.

The too lazy are impossible to help.

You don't have an FSM or an OM and do not care enough to download them for free, let alone look at them. Good luck with your car!

I just downloaded the FSM that you gave the link too. I looked through it, and it didn't have what I was looking for, like I stated before. I did buy a full owners manual and service manual on CD, that just haven't arrived yet. I'm not too lazy, although that moniker could easily apply to you. How hard would it be to go outside and take a picture of your trunk? Seriously, that's all I'm asking. On a board full of Infiniti owners, I didn't think that would be such a strange request. There are a couple of partouts, and I'm trying to get all the pieces I can before they're gone.

There are guys just like you on every board I've ever been on. You've been around forever, you see every one come and go, and you get jaded. You get annoyed when newbs ask for help. Just remember, you were one too, no matter how long ago that may have been. I'm sure you asked simple, inane questions too. Heaven forbid. How do you expect anybody else to rise up to your level if you don't reach down off your high horse and give them a helping hand. I'm just trying to make this the best car possible, so if you can help, cool. If not, I will figure it out somehow.

Btw, in the first two days of ownership, I have replaced the spark plugs, fuel filter, O2 sensors, trans filter, replaced the Infiniti logo with the JDM Nissan one, installed my hood mascot, and did a full interior detail. I don't qualify as lazy, I don't think.

The request isn't strange. We're lazy.

True... if I had a '97 I would snap a few pics. for you. Here are some from ads for 26 1997 Q45s on http://www.cars.com. Does this help?

Sort of figured that's what you would need. You might see if there's one without major tail damage in a junk yard nearby by searching on http://www.car-part.com

Most of those places will almost give you those trim parts - they consider it useless stuff between them and parts that they can actually sell for a profit. You would be able to see how it was assembled and buy what you need all at the same time.

Wow, that looks a lot bigger than the G50. I'm a little jealous.
