Hey guys, I need a big favor.

I live in Oregon and have a S14. Coilovers are going to be the next purchase but I want to make sure I get the right ones. My car is a daily driver so I want to find the right balance of performance and comfort.

I know that this topic is popular and a lot of opinions are flying 'round. I want to decide for myself. So, if you have coilovers on your S14, and would be willing to give me a ride, let me know. I am especially interested in the LX+ or the GR+Pro but anything that is not to harsh would be good to experience.

Thanks in advance!!!

if your feeling cheap: Megan Streets

if you wanna spend a bit more: Stance.

both comfortable enough for DD

Spend at least 1g's on them (go with big name/ ones that more that 100 people have said they are great) and you will have a good set of coilover.

Also, it has a lot to do with the spring rates (8 front and 6 rear is preferred for street), the design of the shock itself (they say twin tube is better for street), with or without helper springs (helper springs help), and of course, your own adjustment on ride height and damper adjustment.

I personally would say f*** it and go for the Side way master Super Drift from tien, Its edfc compatible you can sit in the cockpit and adjust all levels of the shocks independently and together, your going to pay more but honstly you pay more for s*** that performs then it dont break plus you gonna be sending this thing sideway thru a corner or at least I hope thats why you bought the car I know you didnt do it for straight line performance (we all know why). any who just thro it in the bag and Iam out.

^^ this confused me. anyways, dont get the super drifts. your first post says your going to daily it and you dont want it harsh. so that would rule out the superdrifts

The fact that you call your stock 240 a 180sx tells me you're nothing but a fanboy. Why would anyone want to pay that much for suspension on a DD?

As for the rest of your post. there are plenty of things to do with a fr platform than drift. Yes, numerous people use them for drag racing. Quite a few people also use them for road courses, autox, and even rally. Motorsports existed well before drifting.

They're innately silly anyway, because competitive drifting as a motorsport is infinitely sillier than any boso car will ever be. It's a blast and I definitely watch it, but it ain't exactly WRC. It's the automotive equivalent of "Dancing with the Stars"

well, for me, i went from crappy agx w/ eibach springs to stance gr+ pro. actually used the stance to up the ride height to just about .5in below stock (long story, ask me if you wanna know) and i have to say, the highways in san antonio arent exactly smooth, but the only other thing i would go with are nismo springs/struts to be a bit easier on the back (3 blown disks, 1 operation to fix one). so, unless you're 60 and already wrecked your body, or 26 w/ 7 years in the marines that wrecked mine), go with stance. the only thing they wont be perfect for is drag, where sofer is better.
