Can coolant enter into the intake or exhaust from the turbo? It seems to me when I first start my car in the morning, smoking appears. Also after I take my car out for a while and let the car idle for a while when I get back, it will smoke. The smoking will not take place right away. After a few miniuts. The smoke looks white to me. I want to run my turbo without coolant lines for a test . Is this safe? I just took off my intercooler piping, and the piping looks dry, no oil at all.

It might be coolant leaking into your turbo or it might be a headgasket problem. Check compression. Don't run the turbo with out the coolant lines!

as long as it's oil cooled, it'll be fine.

Are you sure, it seems to me that it was made to use coolant too so you should use it:confused:

It will be fine. The presence of the water jacket will not cause additional heat nor will it cause less heat. With no water running through it, the oil becomes the only source of cooling. Just like a standard bearing housing.

I did a compression test. Its fine. And yes, the turbo has coolant and turbo lines.

you mean oil lines? like they said, it will be ok, as long as you have the oil lines hooked up.

When I took my spark plugs out, they looked grey. What does this mean? I removed the coolant lines from the turbo and it still smoked. I still can't figure out the problem. Anyone have any suggestions that I should try?

you could be running lean, if there is white residue on your plugs. I just took mine out, and they are BLACK. needless to say I am running extremely rich. sounds like youve been leaning it out a little bit

no my car doesn't overheat at all. Its says the same as before I put the turbo on. It is posible that I can be running a little lean. But according to my air/fuel gauge I'm hitting the green. (rich)

Is it a wideband o2? If not you can't really depend on it for an accurate reading if it's just like an Autometer which runs off your stock o2 sensor.

Its runs off the stock o2. I know that its not that accurate, but it helps a bit. I know I'm not running lean. This smoke is pissing me off.
