While installing the "Texasoil" accumulators I noticed my strut dust boots are shot.

I should also get to my dust boots on my rack done too.I was wondering if I should replace the springs while I have the struts out?

I drove the car 13,000 miles on Semi-FLAT accumulators I got the car @ 87,000 the last "Infiniti Service Records" show the accumulators were changed out @ 49,869 miles in May of 99.

Is that long enough to wear out the springs?I don't want to tear down the struts again.

Also, noticed one of the "Bound Bumpers" (FSM Page FA-44) was split on the front right strut.

Can that bound bumper be replaced?

Are the 300ZX Upper links and Tension rods a good install on an Active Q?Many companys like Stillen list them for Q45 and 300ZX apps.

I will be on a seek and fix mission for leaks this weekend and after any and all of the Active systems leaks are fixed it time to move to Rubber.

First the dust boots, then the bushings. Right?

I still need the other 5 Accumulators recharged ( two months to go ) Then my interior will get the love it needs.

The way the active is setup, i would only use OEM stuff with that..... Personal opinion..

I see no reason you need to replace the springs... The springs basically just hold up the car when the active isnt on...

I think this bound bumper could be replaced, youll want to ask Joe.... If you cant find a part number ill find that for you upon request...

The bushings themselves are pretty cheap... Id go ahead and do it all at once if you can....

Additonal mandatory reading (besides Q45tech) for Q45a owners. They are very informative for even non a model owners.

I never received email. try again kebowers47@hotmail. phone 832 651 7576. replacement snubbers are available and should be replaced when the dust boots are done.No need to replace springs, but strut mounts may be a good idea since driving with flat accumulators really stresses them.. Its not a bad job if you have good spring compressor and power drive tools. Just be sure and loosen top 'nut' of front struts before removing from the car --per FSM instructions.

The reason I asked is aftermarket Upper links & Tierod ends say they have better bushings.

But I didn't know if an Active Q would even take them.

I assume this is for aaronl?

And the rest is for me.

I have had no trouble contacting you via email.

PS

Texasoil is the greatest thing to ever happen to Q45a's

You can Quote me on that.

I can't wait for the other 5 Texasoil Accumulators.

All of the suspension components are the same... IE tension rods, upper links, and so forth

I agree with the Texasoil comment. I have currently got the other 5 accumulators on order and hoping to receive them this week. I have already replaced the 4 strut units and completed replacement of upper links tension rods and sway bar busings. GreenQ45a we should both soon have fully active Q45a's

Yeh!

So that covered all the front and rear bushings412.00 With TRE's & U-Links....Outstanding I thought it would cost alot more to completely re-rubber the front and rear end. Thanks!

So is everybody against Stillen tie rod ends and upperlinks?
