i am not just throwing around the idea anymore. I have come to my senses and saved up the money...well most of it. what do i need to put a turbo in the car. and to get it running. i am planning on running the turbo around 7 psi. maybe more. i am putting in new pistons, valves, springs and conecting rods. i know i need a new manifold, turbo (probably a t3), IC, and wastegate. Where can i get a intercooler that will fit the car and does anybody sell plumbing for it? thanks for all of the help so far and thanks for all the help to come once i start the install.

Couple things:

If you're building a motor with internals, I guarantee you will want more boost than 7 psi, and you'll also be able to handle it. Keep this in mind when choosing injectors, turbo, etc.

You'll probably want something bigger than a t3, probably a t3/t4 hybrid depending on what you want to do with the car. Ask wd... I don't know anything about turbos. He's dealt with most of them first hand. CNichols also knows enough to help out.

The intercooler is going to have to be custom. I just picked up a thick one that I'm going to custom mount and have someone run some piping for me. Still looking at my options for that.

The intercooler "setup" is going to have to be custom.

The intercooler "piping" is going to have to be custom.

The intercooler "kit" is going to have to be custom.

Take your pick.

A "custom" intercooler would actually probably be best anyway, if you feel like playing semantics. You could pick your own core and have endtanks welded to work with your application.

I'll be more specific next time.
