Hi guys. I have a 90 240sx with a rb20det. I have k&n cone filter. Homemade 3" downpipe. Stock Cat. And a crappy pace setter 2.5" catback system. I did install the welbro fuel pump. Well I've had my car running for about a year now. I took it to the track yesterday and ran the 1/4 mile. I only got 15.001" I need to go faster but I'm on a budget. I would welcome any suggestions.

opps. What boost and do you have a LSD? 2.5 is kinda small for exhaust.

AUTO OR MANUAL?

YOU SHOULD BE A BIT QUICKER THAN THAT....

TRY GUTTING THE CAT, GETTING A 3" EXHAUST, FPR, BETTER CLUTCH, LSD, FLYWHEEL, BOOST CONTROLLER, DO SOME WEIGHT REDUCTION..... THOSE WILL ALL MAKE YOU FASTER.

THE FPR WILL HELP YOU GET YOUR FUEL PRESSURE IN CHECK WITH THAT WALBORO.

high flow cat or hollow the stock one will help alot. The stock Cat on my car was really choking the RB.

LSD should help you as well.

Manual transmission. No LSD. I do have a Centerforce stage 2 clutch for NA 300zx, though. Works well. I'm planning on the doing the FPR thing. I think that may help. It feels rich. I also had to put a new N1 water pump in (my first one went bad) and a power industries timing belt. Doing the timing belt on these motors is a piece of cake. LSD is should be after the FPR. I'm kind of concerned about the stock inercooler not getting enough air to cool the charge. My bumper covers the opening for the intercooler completely. Any Suggestions?

How much boost did you run? Is the ignition timming set right? that will rob you of horse power.

Sweet man, Im in Augusta GA. I am interested in 1/4 mile times too, so post up what you run at Gainesville for me. I usua;;y race at Jackson, which is kinda ****ty and the times are usually a bit "slow", so Ill post those once I get my car goin.

Your car definitely has potential to go faster than that. I ran an 8.750 1/8th, 13.483 1/4 in my RB20 with only these mods:

3" cat-backgutted S13 catstock RB downpipeHybrid FMICpod filtercustom cold-air box insulating pod filterno P/Sno A/CR32 LSDstock clutchstock flywheelstock boost

I had a full tank of gas and some crappy Continental street tires when I ran that.

I'm going to try and check my timing today I think it maybe retarded. Also going to install a manual boost controler.
