So I got this crazy crazy idea that probably wont work but im gonna run it past some of you guys so you can get a good laugh ok you know how skyline gtrs have the computer on the dash that looks like thisthat tells you boost and everything (does it control it to) cause would it be possible to find that program out of the ecu of the r34 and maybe use it on a sr20 ecu to control boost and monitor your engine i mean it would take alot but if its possible and someone can figure out how to do it i would pay you to do it that would rock if not please bash and laugh away

What the R34 has is similar to what the Nissan Consult is. Consult is some software you put on a laptop and you use a special cable that plugs into a harness off the ecu that allows you to monitor engine data in real time.

Standalones and some piggybacks also do this+ a slew of other functions. This way would be much easier.

^agree

the skyline ECU is made for that system while the SR20 one is not, it would be a complete nightmare to attempt interfacing that with the sr20 ECU.. unless someone knows somthing that i dont i would definately go with something aftermarket

All it is is a matter of converting the voltage output from the sensors to the corresponding value of what is being measured.

Yes, the hardware is easy (relatively speaking) ... it is the decoding of the codes and information that is very tough if you do not know what is being sent.

Where would be the best place to aquire this "consult" program??I have a VH45DE w/ecu that i plan on boring out to and supercharging. I will obviously need to do something in the way of reprogramming the ecu so that it doesn't go insane and roast the engine.Any help would be greatly appreciated!!Thanks, Jon

The original Consult product from Nissan and Infiniti is hardware and software designed to work with their cars.

It is very, very expensive! Can run many thousands of dollars for a full set (which you would not need, of course, but still very expensive) and the updates, etc., are only available to Nissan and Infiniti dealers as far as I know.

You occasionally see them pop up on eBay, but those have questionable versions of software in them ...

Do you happen to just have about $10k laying around? Because that's about what it's going to cost to do what you're thinking about.

Everything is custom except the supercharger.
