I need advice on whether or not I should upgrade the suspension on the car. Since getting the 18s, the car obviously rides a little rougher than before. Can anyone tell me what shocks/struts are good? I don't know what they cost so I don't really know what price range other than I don't need the most expensive/ top of the line, but would rather not go for the cheapest, either. A moderately-priced shock/ strut will work.

The car doesn't always ride rough, but I do notice it at around 50 and again just over 60.

Ok. I have another question for you. My car is 13 years old, but I only have 53k miles. Is it time for new shocks and struts?

I just went to fuzzycats.com and only saw a DIY about struts. Can you post the link you're referring to?

Gotcha. Thanks! I need to have a couple things looked at before I get too crazy with interior mods. I've been hearing somewhat of a knocking noise when pulling into my driveway. I don't know if it's a ball joint, tie rod end, or what.

If you hear it going over a bump or even when you hit the brakes firmly it may be a tension rod bushing blown .Mine sounded like a hammer smacking the suspension .EASY to replace the tension rod .

Someone once told me larger rims on a stock suspension lead to the suspension wearing out faster. Don't know if this is true?

I guess the point is moot if you your suspension bits are alrady worn out prior to mounting large rims.
