I have been trying to correct a problem for a couple weeks now. I put in a new battery and have not been able to get my drive positioner to work since. I read and followed the directions in both manuals, as far as setting memory. The green lights come on both 1 and 2. I set the memory but when I get out of the car or take the key out my steering wheel doesn.t go up and the seat doesn't go back. The cancel switch is not pushed in. All things work manually. Would some one know what else I can or should do??? Thanking you, Big Time, Wayne

I have seen this on a few occasions, if the auto drive positioner happens to have a trouble code, it may not operate and keep things in the manual mode. Using the Consult 11 to get into the auto drive positioner to see if any trouble codes are present. Another thing you may want to try, set your seat memory one and two, then drive the vehicle a short distance, turn off the engine and see if things revert back to normal operation. Sometimes you may ( very rare ) get a glitch in the computer and cause a trouble code when replacing the battery. The computer for the auto drive is located (attatched to the bottom of the drivers seat).

I stole this from the yahoo club... It should help you reset your automatic drive positioner - hope this helps!

Quote »Believe it or not, it's actually a bug in the car common to all (or at least many) 1994 Qs. I actually keep the reset procedure in my palm pilot so I always have it close. Whenever the car has it's battery disconnected your seat memory will stop working. Here's the procedure:

1. Open the drivers door2. Turn the key to the Run position3. Turn the key all the way back off, but don't remove the key4. Close the door5. Wait about 1 minute6. Open the door, the memory function should work now.

A couple of times I've been too anxious and opened the door without waiting long enough, if you do, just start the procedure over.
