So pretty much what Im about to write is going to be hard to believe. I just sold my 240 to buy my lexus and I miss it. Like usual of any 240 owner that decides to let there's. Well I have been looking around to buy a shell just to tinker on. So yesterday I was told by a friend that there had been a "sick 240" parked by my house for days, and its been ticketed. So I go look around and I finally see it. Stop look at it, seems like its been ditched. Front bumper is inside the car along with what seems to be a front mount, turbocharger, and all its piping ( im seeing this threw the windshield as the car is locked..) I look in front and notice... the hoods not latched. Pop the hood and the motor is missing, but the transmission is still there. I also notice this car had to be swapped. Battery was relocated, fronts been cut to fit the piping and the front bumper supports been cut to fit in the front mount. So now Im tempted... theres a clean shell, full of lovely parts, no motor and has been ditched for days. Now I need to know if anyone has been in this situation. What do I do? Can I just roll this car to my house, try to get a title for it? Its not stolen as cops have been to this car numerous times ticketing it and it does have a license plate. Can I call the police and ask if no one claims it can I keep it lol? Really help guys, this could be my chance to get back into a s chassie and keep my beloved sc!!!

I think in order to get a tittle you have to go to the dmv and write a letter to the two previous owners and if they dont want it you have to pay registration and any other fees to get the car in your name. Im not sure about towing it to your house though. i had a similar situation with a sweet a** nova that was down the street from my house and the cops had it towed away after a few months. I would look at it every day when i would skate to school i should of gotten it gl bro it sounds quite tempting

Thanks, Im really thinking about pushing it down to at least in front of my house. Its really odd how its just sitting there untouched.

Get cracking with the DMV. I don't think you need to mention the contents of the car. Just tell the previous owners that the car was ditched with no motor in it. They probably won't want it anyways.

Go for it!

well if the cops say no one has claimed or wants it... and the previous owners dont want it, the cops can impound it... cuz someone will have to pay the tickets and impound fees...

id say wait for it to get impounded and ask the cops when its gunna get auctioned... cuz if it is, u could get it dirt cheap...

its hard to sat wats gunna happen... but i say go for it!

Thats what im afraid of, 240s are always getting auctioned off. Even if there shells they seem to go for more then there worth.

I definitely wouldn't tow it to the house, you don't know the history behind that car, it could have been stolen and someone pulled the engine out and just abandon it there... though if I were you I probably would take that turbo setup.

When contemplating illegal actions, a good rule of thumb is to NOT discuss it on the internet
