Not sure. I'll compare them tomorrow as best I can. As long as the bracket bolts up and the pulleys line up, it will work. I'm using the sohc a/c compressor and the sohc alternator. Heh, I'm ghetto right now.

Interesting, so you got the SOHC alternator to bolt up too? Thats good to know. Thats fewer accessories for me to worry about not working

How did u get the alternator to work?I looked at it and the part for the adjustment, didn't line up. The ca one was farther back?

Also where did u get the signal fo the a/c compressor? did u use the original wire?

I've heard that the KA pump will work, but I don't have any experience with it. I compared my SOHC KA and the CA pumps and I didn't think they looked like they would interchange. I could tell that they used the same housing, but the bolt holes were in different places.

For the alternator, I actually bent the tensioner bracket. I highly recommend not using it though. If you're not careful you'll blow a fuse, because the power line from the KA-E alternator totally comes in contact with the oil filter, which happens to be an awesome ground. There's a rubber cover, which is what is blocking the current, but it's so tight it will probably rip through the rubber eventually, so I'm getting my CA alternator rebuilt. So when I say I'm using the E compressor, I have it installed and driven, but I haven't connected the signal wire. It's on my to-do list.

T88Lexus: I checked and they're not compatible. The whole tensioner system is completely different. Sorry man. By the way, the other day I started a thread about having more stickies that you replied to. I thought it was pretty relevant and important, but it's completely gone now. Do you think a moderator removed it?

Ryan, it was a great idea! Infact it was sooo great, that I did what you recommended it as soon as I read it. Your original post is now in a Sticky that reads Read me for newbs, and answers to faq. Give it a read and tell me what you think!

Hey Ryan, thanks for putting up that information, it was what I was hoping for. I think we also need one thread with perhaps a list of CA owners with running cars only, their list of modifications and useful information pertaining to their setup, like dyno charts, track times, etc. An idea I like includes the "the ka-t list" from the KA forum here. I think if there was a sticky with more substance (i.e. dyno charts and timeslips) and less small talk it would go a long way in earning respect and drawing interest.

i also am running a KAe alternator, and made it line up, only problem was that i broke my waterpump after about 2K miles. im having a bracket made up so that i can properly use the SOHC alt, if you make a bracket you should be able to use any pump.
