Hey guys. Im starting to get into drifting and I need a little bit of power. Right now I have a low mile KA24DE with a Injen Intake, Pacesetter Header (not installed yet) and a HKS Hi Power Catback exhaust. Suspension wise I got Megan Front Upper, Rear Upper, and Rear Lower strut bars, new BuddyClub struts, and on the way KYB Shocks with TEIN S Tech springs. What do you guys suggest I do to get more power out of the motor?

On a serious note. Little intakes and exhausts won't squeeze power out of your engine, get a turbo.

Edit : Sorry for my outburst.

Hahaha I'm sorry I insulted you in the beginning.

Also, If you like the response of N/A.You could try fitting a supercharger on your KA.

Now, it won't be an easy bolt-on job, since you can't simply buy a kit on the internet.

I remember someone on NICO that made and adapter plate, and fitted a supercharger from an Xterra (I'm not 100% sure it's from an Xterra, perhaps a Pathfinder)

a tiny t25/t28 will be at full boost by 3k rpm if that and cost will stay below a grand for pieced together kit

You should look at upgrading cams, either with BCs or take a look at different combinations- there's a thread all about different combos. They aren't a huge difference, but nothing is with NA (at least not for under $3000).And +1 for the valve cover. That looks awesome!

Why don't you try adding parts that you won't have to remove in the event that you add a turbo? A lightweight crank pulley, aluminum driveshaft, NGK wires, electric fans are some options. You can take it a step further and add cams and an aluminum flywheel (more labor intensive). By then you could have already pieced together a turbo kit. You wont see major gains with the bolt ons I mentioned, but they should improve the engine's response. BTW, good luck with the pacesetter header. I have one on my single cam and it rubs against the steering linkage, transmission, and has a poor connection between the header and the down pipe that causes a leak. I'm actually going to switch it out for a used Hotshot.

TDS has it man...do some engine internals first...cam..pistons..change your comp ratio...then if ya decide to go FI..your engine will withstand it..allthou..a stock ka24de should be torquey enough for basic drifting ...in my humble opinion...good luck

On a Ka, its turbo or bust IMO. You can do a sub 1500 dollar turbo setup and have a wickedly responsive turbo setup that will have instant boost/response.

If the reason for your want for more power is just cause you are wanting to get drifting then you've got ample power stock. I noticed you didn't mention having a LSD. Even a VLSD is a night and day difference compared to stock, add that with your incoming suspension and you're in business.
