Hey Guys,

I have a 2009 G37S Coupe and need to replace the tires. I would like some long lasting tires that are quite, but still perform well on the road (I do not race or take the car to the track).

The tires it came with are Bridgestone 225/45R19 92W on the front and 245/40R19 94W on the back. They are loud.

What do you recommend that will not cost an arm or a leg?

Thanks,

Geoff

I went from Yoko S Drives UHP summer to Conti Extreme Contact DWS UHP all season. So far, I like them....sidewalls not as stiff, but I don't push it too hard. Quieter, hopefully last longer, can drive in the snow. The others in the running was Yoko Advan s.4

Check tirerack.com for reviews. Check discount tire for prices.

gm42,

I recently installed a set of Bridgestone RE 760 Sports on my '03 G35 6 Speed Coupe. The tires were roughly $160 per tire. They are quiet, work great in the rain and with the stated wear specs, should last a relatively long time. Check with Tire Rack for sizes, customer reviews and prices.

I have Hankook Ventus v4 es's on the wife's sedan and they seem to do OK but are not to be considered "all season" as they don't do well in the snow. I had Kumho Ecsta ASX on my Maxima and they were great tires. Kumho does have an Ecsta LX Platinum that will fit the G and has a UTQG of 600 A/A which should last long. Realize you lose traction (from heavy acceleration or lateral grip) as you extend longevity.

I had good luck with the Yokohama S-drives on my 2005 G35 coupe. I'll probably get them for my 09 sedan when the time comes.

I can tell you what to get and I can also tell you what to avoid. I've probably gotten about dozen different sets of tires on the random car's I've owned over the past few years.

Best bang for the buck in terms of summer tires is the Yoko S.Drives. I have them on one of our other cars.(275/35/20)

Love em. Tread pattern is nice grip is really good, even in the rain. Much better then the very expensive short lived Yoko Adavan's I made it only 6k miles before I hit the wear bars with those.

Massive skip on the ContiSport Contact 2. PZero's Rosso's are cool but also suffer from longevity issues like the Adavan's. Not as bad but close.

Dunlop SP Sport Maxx's are decent wear life is about 20k. If you live anywhere that goes snowy on the rare occasion summer tires are a major no no. :nono: Well unless you like crashing. If you need winter's I would you can't go wrong with Nokian (more hard core for non stop snow/ice use) or the LM series from bridgestone. Their latest version the LM60 is the best for highway street use with occasional snow.

If you want to go for good tread life and all season usability I would also consider the Pzero Nero A/S. Pilot Sports A/S are awesome too but at their price point you could burn up two sets of S.Drives and arrive at the same point in terms of cost and miles.
