I need new struts

I was just informed by a mechanic that my struts are bad I have a 1999 q45t with the auto suspension. I checked into replacements and they are 630.00 and if thats my only option Iguess I have to pay it, but I was wondering if I have any other options as far as replacement struts. Any suggestion???
