Brakemotive is the way to go to save money. Fast shipping and great brakes. Great stopping power and looks good too.

I stick with the Nissan OEM pads, since they provide the best compromise with performance, lack of squeal and longevity. Others have had good luck with after-market products too, so they may chime in with their suggestions. But, please do a search for threads on rotors and pads here - there is a lot of discussion.

In general, getting the densest iron you can find is best. Cross-drilled or slotted rotors aren't required, but not an issue if you do want to use them. With slotted rotors, just be aware that they "sound" a bit different when braking - can be unusual if you have never used them before.

With either drilled or slotted rotors, they have to be chamfered properly to prevent cracks, and resurfacing them (if needed later) is a more expensive process - some shops will not resurface these at all, since the process is slower and can crack the rotor, etc.

Just as a reference, the last time I changed rotors, I went with black-coated Centric Premium rotors from Tire Rack and am still very satisfied with them. Standard blank (i.e., not drilled/slotted) rotors should last as long as 2 to 3 pad changes, by the way, before becoming too thin to be used.

Depending on how many miles are on your ride and, therefore, how much longer you'll have it I HIGHLY recommend www.frozenrotors.com, cryogenically treated. No slotted or drilled...you don't need those. Just their standard Frozen Rotors with stock Nissan pads. Each pad set will last much longer and your rotors for a LONG time.

This^^^. Probably 30 people on these forums have Brakemotive rotors and pads. Above average rotor quality, for very cheap price.
Honestly for the price, you might as well buy the whole kit and replace your rotors and pads every time you do this maintenance (25-35k miles). To get the rotors resurfaced will take time and cost half as much as buying all new ones and getting the pads. Either way the rotors need to come off the car anyway so might as well save an ~hour and a trip to the store.

Yeah..Frozen are nice, but for 4 rotors at $500, you're better of spending $200 on the brake motive kit. I'm going to be getting a new set myself soon. I'm at 32k on mine right now and that is with HEAVY/spirited driving on a weekly basis.

I did the brakemotive route also and love them! Can't beat a set of pads and rotors for the front and rear for under $200! I believe they have a 1 year warranty also. I ran them in my IS300 also. There are even very good reviews of them on the corvette forums!

+1

I think Blanco and I were some of the first coupla M owners to use them...I've got over 31k miles on mine
just make sure you bed them (any new pads for that matter) in properly and they should be good to go
less dust, no squealing, and really very little rust on the rotors esp compared to the OEM set (man, that used to bug me!!!)

Powerstops are very good rotors according to what I have read/heard. I have no knowledge of their pads though ...

I know I'm way late to the party, but R1 Concepts has good quality braking parts. I've been using their drilled and slotted rotors for years and have installed them on two different cars. Very happy with their stuff. http://www.r1concepts.com/
