So now that I started with this blue led theme in the car I cant stop if I thought the 3.2 mm surface mounted leds in the gauge cluster were small and hard to work with look at the leds on the HVAC controller 1-1.5mm in size wish me luck hear I go with the research were im going to get these in blue, and what’s their size code , no one sells these type of leds in small quantities except in reels of 2000 or more .

wouldn't it be simpler to put transparent blue tape or paint on the leds?

anyhow I applaud you for having the guts to go that far

The thing is, with these damn leds.. theres no "ebay" version of them...

No one sells them cheap, or in small quant for the most part....

Everyone wants to sell a "spool" etc... A spool of 2000 leds, that are .60 cents or more each... do the math!

Theres no "cheap/easy" way to do this... im sure you all know im pissed bc of it lol.

its a bit of a problem unlike the lcd screens on the gauge cluster which sit in a socket the screen on the radio is solider on by at least 120 individual pins so unless a use a rework station which is basically a hot ceramic plate that you set the whole circuit board on in order to heat all the connections up at the same time so you can remove the screen and then get to the leds resolider them put everything back together i just don't think its worth it i think im going to change my head unit eventual anyway to a d3

Let me know exactly what LED's you need for this, as far as the company, type, size, wattage, resistance, etc.

My company buys and resells this crap for cost, I can see what I can get for ya. Even if i can get you a test kit with some of them and pick up a few to save on the cost.
