Post

I accidentally posted this thread in general. Quick over view of upgrades, rebuilt engine, JWT 500 turbos, downpipes and testpipes, 615cc injectors, FMIC, ECU program (kinda) will explain that in a few. Other misc upgrades.

Here's the deal. I had a great running TT. The engine had a stage 2 rebuilt, new 500 turbos. It ran great. I decided to upgrade the injectors to 615cc and dual intakes. I had the ecu reprogrammed by Z1. I have a dual intake setup with selin translator. Thats when things got bad.

I had this all done almost 2 years ago. It started but when you hit the gas it would attempt to die. If you kept the gas going it would die. Would not go over 2000 rpm. Was running extemely rich. I couldn't get it right so its sat in the back of the shop for a long time. Me and my brother have a 5 car shop with lift. He builds high horsepower drag mustangs. He is a mechanic but isn't real familiar with 300z's. I got so frustrated that I couldn't get it running that I put it in the back of the shop. Well recently I decided to gI've it another shot. Pulled the engine, went all the way back down to the short block and built it back up. I got it all put back together and started it today. It started up and when I hit the gas it dies. I'm unsure what to try next. I know the block and heads are good. I've checked for intake leaks. Everything is tight. All new silicone hoses for all vacuum lines including silicone PVC hoses and Idle air hose set. The reason why I say I kinda had my ecu reprogrammed is this. I sent it to Z1. I found out they sent mine to someone else and I got that persons. They assured me it had the right programming though. I'm starting to wonder if that is the problem. Would it matter if they had the stock injector or 555cc injectors in the ecu program.

PLEASE HELP OR I WILL NEVER GET TO DRIVE IT AGAIN. MY WIFE IS ALL OVER MEABOUT IT.

Have you checked to ensure your getting enough fuel?

Here is a check list for engine hesitation/stumble that might help.

If the chip was programmed for a 555 and you put in a 615, it will run rich. Thats as good a place as any to start with. Verify the program, if its right, great, if its wrong, you may have solved your problem.

I would definitely have the ecu checked, chances of them sending you another person's programmed chip by accident and it still having a program that meet's your car's needs seems unlikely. Now you said it dies when you give it gas? Does it idle smoothly or is it jumping around and trying to die then to? Fuel delivery was already mentioned and a good thing to check, the Selin needs to be set to the right setting. (also if you have hid's the ballast can cause issues with the selin translator which stalls the car out) Have you pulled codes from the ecu at all to see what it says?
