ok im asking what should i do what would be my best choice to get the most hp out of my s14 either build the ka swap to sr or rb and i need to know if i would be able to do the install w/ me and 2 friends or is it going to be too many proplems w/ all the wirering and stuff i already found an rb26dett w/ everything included 4 3600 and i was thinking of getting it but if its gonna be inpossible 4 us to do our selves then i'll just go w/ eithr the ka and tune it or get the sr20 s15 what do u think would be the best decision to get the most power and still stay w/in $6500 range

If you don`t want to mess with wiring. Then you will need to stick with the KA. Both the SR and the RB require you to do some wiriing or buy a wiring kit. Depends on how much you do yourself. 6500, you should be able to get your engine rebuilt to handle 300+ hp and a turbo kit.

1) Please dont type all in caps, its annoying and we have a forum rule against it. I see you fixed it in your 2nd post- thats good, please keep it up.

2) If you are worried about installing an engine into your car, I would reccomend you get some practice in the garage before you attempt ANY one of these buildups. Turbocharging a KA is by no means a simple process, there are lots of details that you need to pay attention to, lots of mistakes that you will probably make without experience. Do a lot of reading, try tinkering a little before you dive into a big project, and research as much as you can so you know what youre getting into.

3) There is NO WAY you can do an RB26 for $3600. I dont care what kind of deal you found- either it is incomplete (you need LOTS of custom stuff to make the 26 work), or it is a scam. Either way there is no way in hell you can get the engine done for that price. Keep your eye out for scams with these motors, they are everywhere. Go over to the RB forum and they'll tell ya.

Good luck!

thanx guy's i appreciate it so i'm thinking to just strengthin the k/a get it rebuilt to handle massive power when i'm done w/ everything not sayin just w/ the 6500 but all together i want to end up w/ atleast 4-500 hp so thank god to everyones help i'm totally turning away from the rb26 route so its either i just try somehow get the s15 sr20 swap or just settle w/ the black tp s13swap or just the ka-t still not sure though i'm really leaning toward the sr20 route though i thinkit would be alot easier to make power that way

I would suggest doing a LOT more research on each of your options than just taking anyone's word on one direction or another. Personally, I like the KA-T option better and agree with fiznat. You're going to have a lot of work no matter how you do it if you plan and doing it yourself. Your savings (money) will be directly related to how much work you do yourself.

But you need to research each engine, what it's limits are, how close you want to get to those limits and how much it'll take to get it there. Getting 400-500whp on a KA-T isn't easy unless you're paying someone else to do it

Not trying to dissuade you on it, just trying to help you along by urging you to do the research that will help your planning phase to be more sucessfull.

OMFG!@ ARE YOU SERIOUS. My Friend has a Camaro with a 383 and Makes 550-600 TO THE WHEELLS YA RLY? i think the RB is going to be too small id look into a RB383DETTT and get the greddy plug and play harness so you wont have to worry about wiring.

Hahaaha....the topics in the KA-T section have gotten ridiculous....they're almost always the exact same question about what size turbo for x amount of power or whats the best way to control extra fuel.....Sucks, for every one new KA-T section member who knows what he's actually talking about, we get 10 who have not the slightest clue.

You're not going to learn any of it over night. Get a couple books and read through the other posts. When you figure out some more specific questions, ask. (search first though)

What you want to know is impossible to put into one post.
