I need honest opinions on tinted taillights

On both my 89 and 00 Maximas, I have tinted the taillights. One car was black and the other gold. Now that I am the proud new owner of a 06 m35, I was thinking of doing the same, but I wanted peoples opinions on if I should and if so, how dark I should go. I also will be tinting the windows black at 10%

This may not be the opinion you are looking for, but.... it looks more genuine on black or dark blue cars. Light colored cars such as silver & white sorta distracts your attention from the car and puts all eyes on the dark tinted tails.

i agree. light colored with tinted lights - lose.

but then again i prefer subtlety when it comes to car mods (such as carbon fiber interiors, blacked out grills and clear corners). i think this is why i like the m and my previous car - they have an understated sleekness that i prefer to the excessive look.

i didn't like the idea, but that pic looks good. that being said, i am a big fan of legality / not giving cops a reason to pull me over... so I would probably pass.

that does look nice. this is subtle - you got my thumbs up to do it light like this. i was thinking the initial poster was looking at blacking them out to the point that the red brake light is barely there- which is what i see a lot of- not cool and not unique. i actually like this and other mods that distinguish you from the pack.

Looks very Ricer IMHO. I prefer the tail lights the way they come and am very glad we don't have the JDM ones which are crystal clear.

I thnk it's down to personal preference, on my Mustang I tinted them and they looked great on a white car. I am not sure about silver unless it had black wheels.
