i need help with these stupid gauges please

ok so when i bought my car there were these 2 gauges. oil temp and water temp. neither of them were hooked up except the blue light for them came on, they are not in good shape at all, but idc..id rather have them work then just have them sit there..so if anyone could help me figure out how to hook them up that woudl be great and i tried searching but found nothin..i thoguht the oil temp sensor was on the right side of the block but idk

BTW i have a stock sohc ka24e and some pics water temp gauge-

i would remove the whole thing and see where the wires end up. looks like the

guy who had that car just had them for show

Gauges generally need sensors attached to them in order to work properly. See if you can find where the previous owner put them, if they are even there at all. I don't know if I would trust anything that says "APC" anyway.

I second that. You can see where it looks like he burnt a hole in the pillar for the wires and such (not a sign of quality workmanship.) Do it over again and ensure that everything is done well.

i took the plastic part that holds the gages up there to look behind it(which btw is a nother piece of crap lol) and the wires go through the fire wall and i can see where they go kinda, but its snowing a little bit right now so i cant go check it out and im not sure if they are out of buisness..i tried searching them and coundt really find anythign..they are pretty crappy gauges lol i just want them to atleast work until i can get somthign better

yeah i think im gunna have to try to take it out and reinstall..looks like ive got myself a nice sunday job ..providing it doesnt snow loland OutToWinPAHC the other thread was in the KA forum and i figured i would get more help in the general one and i tried to delete it but i couldnt figure it out..im still sorta new

Are they wired with speaker wire!?

Seriously, just pull all of that garbage out and send it to Mr. Grouch. There is no sense in putting work and money into making those gauges work. Rip them out and save up for something decent!

I had a similar setup with two autometer gauges in a pillar pod when I bought my 240. One was an oil pressure gauge and the other was a narrowband AFR gauge (AKA a lightshow). I ripped them both out and went with a center vent pod and some defi gauges. I don't think you need to spend crazy money, but that would clean things up considerably and your gauges would actually work.

yeah thast true, i might just rip them out and save my money and do it the right way
